Anyone tried Juice Fasting?

.......reasons for undergoing juice fasts include religious reasons, losing weight and attempting to wean oneself from unhealthy habits, i.e., smoking, drinking soda, overeating, caffeine addiction, etc. Some more serious participants use juice fasting as an alternative to conventional medical practices, i.e., as a healing technique for pain, cancer, depression, arthritis, severe infections that failed antibiotics, autoimmune diseases and many other supposedly incurable diseases.... ?

Hello. I did an all green juice detox about 3 weeks ago and ended up in the emergency room. I was extrememly dehydrated. My temp and blood pressure was really low. I kept vomiting and couldnt hlod anything down. I think that my body is just too fragile right now. I need food to keep my sugar levels right.

I too have herd of people juicing or going on a fruit\vegetable only diet and their Lyme symptoms dissapearing however I know us Lymies can get sicker from trying to diet (in general) because we are starving our bodies of nutrients in a time of illness. I think it depends on the person.

I have thought about adding juicing to my diet.  I love fruit juice but it is loaded with sugar and is supposed to be limited when you have lyme.  Even carrot juice is high in sugar so I am not sure it is healthy for lyme.  The bacteria thrive on sugar and so does yeast when you are on abx.

My wife added veggie juicing (absolutely no fruit) to her already healthy diet and it helped.  She did not do a total juice fast.  But focused on raw vegatables, lean meat, no sugar, no wheat, limited whole grains, fish and eggs.  Plus vegatable juices.  I saw an improvement and would recommend it if you can tolerate vegatables.  Just one trick, make sure the juice is at least half easy juice, which means half celery, carrot or cucumber (or combo any of the three).  the other half can be any vegetalbes you tolerate except not too many beets they can cause a heart reaction in large quantities, also no spinach in large quantities it can cause gout or something funny like that.  Anyway start with easy juices and add the more intense vegatables. 
Search the internet on vegatable juicing you will find the guildelines.
