My ability to remember is gone.  Last night my husband was trying to cheer me up so we sang some karaoke songs together.  After the first song, he asked me what else I wanted to sing.

I was trying to remember the words of the song I liked and could only come up with a small part of it.  He said, Bev, do you mean. . . (can't remember it still!) and I said I think so.  He said we just sang that!  I argued so he played it again and sure enough we had just sang it.

That was scary.  about a week ago something similar happened.  I was standing at the door looking at the dog who was waggin his tail at me and I could not remember how I got there, if I had just let him in or if I was just going to let him out!

I find myself becoming irritable at little things.  I have to control myself to not lash out at the innocent bystanders.  I also cannot tolerate anyone trying to explain something to me because  everything is way too complicated and why bother to learn something you will forget in 10 seconds!  I have lost my motivation and feel detached from everything, like my head is literally losing its contents.  It is depressing.

I get a lot of headaches and my eyes are a mess.  I have the other neurological symptoms but they come and go.  I have cramps, spasms, chills, pins and needles, dizzyness. . . . What stays with me is not feeling completely here - the fog, the red eyes and the headaches.  I take so much imetrex for headaches that I now order it from India.

I am really worried that I will never be the same.  I write because it is good to be able to piece the letters into words and words into sentences.  I have to proof read over and over to correct spelling, typing gone awry and finish thoughts that evaporated.  But under it all, I still exist, I hope.

awww... I can relate to just about everything you said. While I was doing the Rife my head really came back so I do know that it's possible to come back after going that far. Since I stoped the Rife it started going awry again but I hope the antibiotics will put me back on track. I know what your saying about having to re read stuff a bunch of times and proof read. If you notice 97% of my posts are always edited because I forget to say something or there are sentence fragments and such. wink

Have you been tested for Bartonella? That really plays with your moods. Also ask you llmd about Adderall. I just tried it for the first time this week and I am in love! I can actually think straight for the first time in 2 years. I also find Yerbe Mate tea helps. Gives me more energy and perks my mood.

Hi nefferdun.  I think we can all relate to how scary these kind of symptoms are.  Tick-borne illnesses can cause them.

What infections do you have?  What meds are you currently taking and how long have you been on them?  Do you keep a symptom journal?  Reviewing this over time can really help you see when you herx and how you are responding to the meds.

Please let your doctor know what is going on.  You may need to switch meds.  If you have not done so, I recommend having your thyroid, adrenal, and hormone levels checked.  Lyme can affect these levels.  When these levles are not optimal, it can cause many symptoms.

Hang in there okay?  It can take time, but these symptoms can improve.

I have been on adderol for Lyme. At first I loved it because it took away some of the pain & gave me a lot of energy while helping me to think clearer. I stoped taking it because I realized it made me really jittery and it just did not feel safe to put my body in that position.

Thanks you guys. I was just tested for Bartonella and haven't got the results back yet. The only thing I know I have is lyme. I am going to a LLMD for the first time the first part of Feb. I have to drive from Montana to Seattle but it is worth it (I hope). I have been telling the local doctor how to treat me or just treating myself. I gave up on him when he started talking like the CDC, after finally reading "something about lyme" and was suggesting my symptoms were not related to active infection. I put myself back on Doxy over a month ago and am doing a lot of herxing or just relapsing - don't know which. I should be taking thyroid but every time I do I get insomnia so I quit. I have gained over 10 pounds. I am afraid of any kind of stimulent as I can't even drink coffe and I have paradoxical reactions to a lot of drugs.

I am glad that many of you can relate to this. It is funny how you can be so absent minded - but not funny. Only a lyme person can understand. I remember the song now. It was Take It To the Limit.
I can even remember the tune. I is wonderful to have an opening in that fog and see something, even it it is just one ordinary thing.
