Hi, just an update, i was booked in to see dr  in cardiff, but i managed to get a earlier appointment with lyme dr in bolton, he did a microscopy slide of my blood, and said that he found borrelia like spirochaetal forms, that very well could be lyme.

he said there was no co infections that he could see of, and by my symptoms he thinks i dont have any...

He wants me to start a corse of antibiotics,

1,Amoxicillin 500mg two three times per day for two weeks

Then

2,Doxycycline 100mgs one per day for two weeks

Then

3,Nitrofurantoin 50mgs four times a day for two weeks

After a two week break,repeat 1,2 & 3 as above..

He did say the name of this protocol, but i cant remember what is is..

Any info or advice before starting this, im a little worried how im going to react to it..

Thankyou

This is my opinion formed from experience and reading:

The doxy is way too low of a dose.

Both the Amox and Doxy will not have been taken long enough. Most herx's (die off) occur at week four. The amoxy will work on the cell wall and the doxy on non cell wall. It would be better (my opinion) if the doc would allow you at least a month on both of them.

Don't know anything about #3.

I hope whatever you do is helpful to you. Good luck

He did say he is getting great success with it, since his career, over the years he has treated thousands of patience with lyme,
