Hi Derek and Joe,

I know both of you live in my area and have some experience with Bicillin injections.

Just received word from Aetna they are covering 90 days of shots to be delivered tomorrow.

Do you have any ideas of who I can get to administer at least the first couple of shots?

My family physician will not because he didn't order it. Nice.

Thanks for your help. I would like to get going asap because my LLMD ordered this on January 6th. Finished 13 months of multiple IV's and now currently on Biaxin, Plaquenil, and just started Valtrex.

Anyone else in southeastern PA is welcome to post also.

Hi Beth,

Well, i never did the bicillin but i did do the rocpehin shots for about 4 months. I didnt have a nurse do it. My doc just showed me how to mix everything and add it to the syringe and showed my mom how to give them to me. Maybe you could have your doc show someone how to give them to you? Its pretty easy actually. U may have to go to your doctors office to get the first shot administered and to show you how to do them. That is what most people do i think.

Good Luck,
Joe

Beth: Do you have a local visiting nurses association??My ailing father lived with me for the last few years of his life and they administered his injections with doctors orders. Have your LLMD call the VNA and order it and that is all you should need. Like I told you before, it is easy to do your own, just have them teach you. Or call the VNA and talk with them,, Good luck   D

Thanks Joe and Dowa,

My family physician said no so I will call in a VNA for the first shot and see if I can get my LLMD to write the script for it or just pay for it out of pocket. I had to use them for care of my PICC. Once I get past the first shot I feel confident I will be able to do it on my own. My LLMD did not want me to do the first. one. Compared to what many of us have been through - this is a piece of cake!!!

Joe - I think I remember your Mom was a nurse. That must have come in handy!

Talk to you later.
Beth
