I recently went off of anbitioics (about the week before Christmas).  My doctor was to send me the Zhang herbs, but due to a mix-up, I did not receive them.  Finally, I just received the herbs (about a month later than I was supposed to).  However, since I am having new flare-ups (numbness in my tongue and right side of mouth and intermittent numbness in my left extremities), he put me back on Ceftin.  I'm not really sure--has anyone been prescribed the Zhang herbs while they are also taking antibiotics?  I wouldn't think he would send me $170 of herbs, even though a month late, unless he meant for me to take them now, right????

And has anyone else had numbness in their mouth?  It started with about the front 1/3 of my tongue, but it now feels like my entire tongue is numb and the right side of my lip, gums, cheek, etc., as though I am just coming from the dentist office after having received Novacaine for a cavity filling.  And also notice decrease in being able to taste food, as well as food feeling as though it is "hairy" or "furry."  No trouble swallowing, eating, or talking, although am noticing drooling out of the right side of my mouth.

Thanks for the input. The herbs I started today are Coptis two 3x/day, Circulation P two 3x/day, and HH two 3x/day. That's in addition to Ceftin 500 mg. 2x/day and my probiotics. I am starting them at half dose, and if tolerate okay over the next two days, will increase to full dose.

I did not realize this was Bell's palsy, but after reading more info on line, I'm sure it is. When I told my doctor my symptoms, he said to immediately call the urgent number if I have any new symptoms, and I kind of wondered why he said that. I thought all Bell's palsy had facial drooping, and although it feels that way (as well as feeling swollen), it doesn't appear that way when looking at me. I have had this now for almost a month straight and it really is starting to take a toll on my sanity.

Again, thanks for the feedback!

I will, once again, try to endure and have patience with this illness. Thanks for your support!
