I feel pain just thinking about it! Are you also intolerant to the cold weather from Lyme? I was thinking about moving down south.

I am very lucky in the fact that even though I just started to date someone when I got sick with lymes they understood. It is now 3 years later, I have not been able to work due to nurological issues with the lymes, and my then boyfriend and I got married this last September. He is so supportive and loveing. I am very lucky. I just got a port in below my collar bone for daily IV treatment and he helps me on the days that I am not steady enough to do it.

It's incredibly frustrating, but I feel like I've got very little to offer anyone in a dating capacity at this point, so I try to avoid letting things go in that direction. Having lots of good friends helps keep me sane, at least. Usually people expect a lot of time and energy from a partner, and it just isn't always in me to give. Plus I have this personal conviction that the fact that I'm so ill makes me automatically unattractive. Lyme baggage ftw.

Eric,

I do get cold easily...but I just can't handle heat at all. 5 minutes and I feel like I'm going to faint. I was raised in MN so I'm used to the cold...I do have to keep my heat at 76 degree though :P and if I get chilled to the core, I take a hot shower...then lay down to rest from that hehe.

Funny story Sick.  Learn from my mistakes.

One day over the summer I was on the elyptical at the gym when along comes a very attractive woman striking up a random conversation with me.  I'm like wow, this doesn't happen every day.  Let's see where this goes....

So blah blah blah, we start talking about Lyme disease, how I got it etc.  Well classic foot in mouth crossed up with very ditzy bimbo- I said "well I mountain bike every day in the summer, so I guess I could consider myself high risk with Lyme.  Mountainbiking in CT to Lyme is kind of like Rock Hudson to AIDS-unavoidable".

Bimbo response:"Ohh you have AIDS?".

Well that was that. smilewinkgrin

WEll my hubby and I are both Lymies; independently of each other. We spend almost all our time in bed together, but the only sweating going on is from our Babs herxes.

It's a sorry state of affairs, believe me. But we have hope for getting better! We were healthy when we met and married; though he had lyme already he thought he'd been "cured" by those two weeks of Doxy. I got bitten 4 1/2 years ago, and the last two years we have both been really sick.

I feel bad for our kids most of all. But at least we do understand each other and what the other is going through.

Eric and Mountainbiker,
Wondering whereabouts in CT you are? We are also in CT. We have been having Sat night get togethers for Lymies, we even had a New Year's Eve party. It was quite the bash. A bunch of lymies laying around with heating pads passing the Doxy, trying to pretend to stay awake till midnight! We had fun though.

Thea - I completely know what you mean about filling chilled to the core (even though I feel like I'm mostly recovered otherwise). I sometimes get SO COLD that I can't stop shaking, even under a couple blankets. My boyfriend will be sitting around in his boxers and a t-shirt. A really hot shower (like too hot to put my face under the water) or putting on lots of clothes and lying under a down comforter for awhile seem to be the only cures. It's such a weird feeling to feel THAT cold even though you know there's no reason to be cold. I keep the heat at 68, which I hate (I'd much rather have it at 76!), but my heating bills have just been too high to keep it warmer.
