I am sorry you are nor feeling as well as you would like to after being on IV. Just to give you another prospective,,, It wasn't until I got OFF the IV after 3 months that I truley began to feel better. After having the line pulled which I did because I simply could not afford it any longer, as the weeks went by I began to improve alot. I continued with orals and still take them now. The difference is that now for the past 3 months I am also treating the bartonella which I tested negative for but always suspected I had because many symptoms were being blamed on babesia after taking mepron for almost 2 years. Now the symptoms are really improving. I am terrified to go off the antibiotics because any time I did in the past the old miserable symptoms came raging back. My llmd says when I go off the meds he will put me on herbals. I am looking forward to that except for the expense which I think will more than his visit will be more expensive than the cost of his visit and my prescriptions combined. I hope the insurance companies will wise up in our life-time. Blessings

Hey Georgiagirl,

Sorry to hear that you haven't had as much improvement as you would have liked on the IV. How much longer will you be on them? Is your insurance picking up any of the cost?

I never really did get to the symptom free mark, but I decided to go off abx anyway. I have been off them 5 months now and doing well- I will go back on orals soon though because I want to get pregnant this year and don't want to take the chance of being pregnant without them.

Anyway, I just wanted to give you some encouragement- I was always looking for symptom free, never got there, went off abx. anyway, and am doing really well. Now I am thinking some of the symptoms I have now, aren't even from lyme, so I am glad I tried to go off the abx.

Hey minerals! It's so good to hear from you. I'm glad your feeling better.

Hey Maureen 21! I'm not sure how much longer I will be on IV's. My insurance is covering the cost after an out of pocket max of $2,000 each year so things are starting to add up when you figure in traveling to and from appts. every two weeks. My son also has a medical condition so that makes things hard finantually as well. I wish I could just go back to work! That would help!
