Question for those who are cured. Or in Remission?

Does Lyme and Co still cycle every 4 weeks when you feel better.
Because I can be feeling really good but then Bam Im tired and some symptoms kick back in. It seems to be happening the same time each month.
Will this eventually go away, or is this the way it will be forever?
This disease sucks big time...
Thanks,
Maria

Sure.  The life cycle of Borrelia wont change just because your load might be relatively low right now. Right now's the time you need to be very aggressively attacking your infections and supporting your immune system.  Your bacterial and/or protozoan loads are so low right now you are mostly asymptomatic, but your recurrent symptoms indicate you're still infected and you are feeling the toxins from the die-offs.

I don't think there are any cures from borrelia, bartonella, and babesia, just like there's no cure from Herpes. Get it, and you've got it for life.  I think we can realistically expect to get the loads so small and our immune response so strong, that we can enjoy healthy lives, with well tolerated, manageable symptoms.  Strike while the iron is hot, sister!

I have a 4 week cycle also. Many of my symptoms would wax and wane along with the moon. But I had other symtoms that did not ever go away that I attributed to permanent damage. Then I found out I was co-infected and the symptoms that seemed to always be there were not lyme at all but Bartonella.
I agree that you have to fight this aggresively. You can't let your guard down. When you want to get well from lyme and it's co-infections, it means a complete life style change forever. It means taking excellent care of yourself - diet, exercise, abx and immune support.

I tend to agree with most of the above. Remission will mean few to no symptoms and no "cycling" of symptoms-----but also the chance of recurrence if there is a sufficient stressor. I think we need to be armed and ready, always.

Hi sulma

What convinced you to determine once lyme always lyme?   I tend to agree with you.  I thought I was well so many times, then crash.  I also had 4 week cycle symptoms (lighter) while well or in remission thanks lisa  I am going to research to see if i can find a reliable test maybe by now they have improved.  Thanks lisa
