what do people eat when taking mepron? I know you're supposed to have something fatty but most things I think of are dairy which I'm not supposed to have..

hezzer926, I think peanut butter is one thing you can have with Mepron.

Bread dipped in olive oil is great for washing the Mepron out of your mouth. The way is coats everything is gross.

Hey All... I am new here, but certainly not to Lyme and its co-infections. I am currently on my 3rd - 30 day round of Mepron and have been having the "what to eat" battle since I started it. I've gained a ton of weight being sick and having had a serious B12 complication so I wasn't too excited to hear about having to eat fat with Mepron. Anyways - olive oil is good, I usually try to make veggies or pasta with that in the evening and in the AM I make a protein shake with fish oil.

Hi elle03, welcome to the board!

How long have you been sick?  Do you have other co-infections?  Which antibiotic are you taking with the Mepron?  Babesiosis treatment can be tough.  Are you having herxes from it?  I always did.

Lyme and hormone problems can cause weight gain.  Have you had your thyroid and hormone levels checked?
