I was diagnosed in 1996 with lyme, I found treatment to initially literally save my life because my body rejected food. Then it helped sometimes i thought i was well then boom. I had a wonderful lyme doc, i did quit because of money and i felt i had to get off antibiotics. this was maybe 3 years ago.   if you had to go to a regular dr. what test would you ask for, which would be the most accurate or are there none still?  I live in MI and not only will it be a regular dr i am sure it will be a local lab so I wonder should i ask blot or alese(sp)  thanks a bunch, I am relatively poor financially so i can't pay I am on medicaid.  thanks lisa

Not many regular doctors know or even want to know how to treat chronic Lyme.

So, you may as well go back to the LLMD if you can.

Like a herpes virus, we Lymies always have it. Like the herpes virus, it can be dormant and then rear it's ugly head due to stress and other things.

I know Igenex takes medicare, not sure about medicaid but I would think if they honor one they would honor the other. Your doc can send your blood to them or you can ask for a kit to be sent.   www.igenex.com   D

Hoping to find cure (love name)

can I ask how long u have had this?

If I hadn't had the rash i would not know if i have ms or lyme is that not pathetic? my regular dr. knows i have memory loss maybe a mri would show something, if lyme shows up on mri.

its a thought i hate this disease!!!!!!!!!!!

Roses: What you want is not an MRI but a spect scan of your brain. It shows "activitiy" and blood flow where an MRI is like slides of the brain. I had an MRI that was considered normal and my spect scan only weeks later showed severe problems with neurotoxicity.  D
