I have had Lyme for at least 6 years and went undiagnosed. At the end of the 6 years I was VERY sick and bed ridden. Doctors would not listen so I had to buy my own antibiotics online and it took most of my disability money. I finally found a doctor that would listen and I have been on Amox 500 MG 3 times a day along with Doxy 100mg 3 times a day. I have been taking them for 3 months with no improvement but suddenly I started seeing big improvments!! I am almost in tears!! I have not had an exhausted day in 2 weeks!! I use to have them everyday no matter what! It's a very long road back but now I know that ive put in good miles!! Just in time for spring/summer!!

The only way to describe how I feel is if you had a bad flu and your on your 2nd day of antibiotics. You can defiantly feel it slowly getting better! I also notice my pain tolerance is improving!

I can't wait to see the end of this road... It has taken quite a toll on me over the years.

Doxycycline and Amoxicillin should not be prescribed together. I'm not saying it's a dangerous combo but just read up on it.

SickinCT,

Glad you are showing signs of improvement.  That is great news!!   Just keep in mind that even though you are feeling better now you still have a long way to go.  If you are anything like me, you take 2 steps forward and 1 back (sometimes 2 or 3 back).  Don't get discouraged if this happens.   I felt MUCH better in early Dec. but then got much worse around X-mas/New Years (and most of January).  It seems like the last month my ups and downs aren't so dramatic.  I think that is a good sign.

I'm very happy to hear of you success.   It's nice to feel semi-normal for a change  ; )

Good days and bad days while recovering. Eventually good days take over and you're pinching yourself.

Recovery takes a long time. But any and all progress is cause for celebration.

Way to stick with it.
