Can anyone tell me what drugs for babs and bart are good to cross the bbb? People are always saying improve your immune system so it can fight the bugs on its own. The thing is, your immune system is set up so it can't get to your brain. Otherwise it would attack your brain. So if you've got the bugs in your brain I would think you'd have to take something to deal with them.

So, back to my ?. What will work in your brain and spinal fluid that will kill babs and bart? Anyone?

I've asked this question on this board a number of times.  Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a conclusion on how to cross the bbb and get to the bacteria.  What a breakthrough some doctor/scientist could make if they could find an answer...

Unfortunately I cannot give you an exact answer either. I DO know though from a lot of what I have read that certain antibiotics are "better" than others at getting through the BB. If you haven't yet, I would discuss your concern with your MD. and see if he or she can make and recommendations.
