Hello everyone..... I have been working a ton alot of 2-9:30 or 12:30 - 9:30 or 10-7 and about 35hrs a week...i work at home depot so i am on my feet all day long on concrete floors. I need the money so i cant ask to cut back my hrs but i am part time still.  I guess what I am wondering is that my tiredness wont go away. I sleep all morrning till about 2-3 hrs b4 i have to go to work at 2 ..so that i am not tired all day at work, but i get 11-12 hrs asleep a night and neer wake up refreshed even when i try to get up early a few hrs later i have to take a nap. Is this my lyme or the combination of working alot with my lyme and having depression. this is really bringing me down..I do take celexa for my depression and this was b4 my lyme.

a few weeks ago i had alot more energy and was going to the gym on my days off but now i dont even do that. I started to do light cardio on the machines and would jog on the treadmill for 1/2hr and it felt great. but now that i am working so much and so very achey from being on my feet and lifting I cant decifer if it is just work or my lyme?

I am also going through sum stuff at home and also i am not at the job that i want to be at. i graduate college last may and stilll cant find a job which is annoying but sometime i just want to give up on that and except the fact that i am never leaving home depot. also my managers and boss have been hard on me about how i cant be full time cause i am not reliable cause i had taken out alot of days when i first got sick...but yet i work 35 hrs a week and they been watching me at work...its just been alot of stress there and i am afraid of lossing my job so i am working my butt off to prove that i am a hard worker....

with all of this going on and having lyme its making me go crazy and want to give up most days and i just feel numb.....i have to go and start to get ready for work...

please any advise would be appreciated...thank you! :0)

How well do you sleep? Do you wake up during the night?

I have found that all my meds keep me down (mentally and physically). What I have tried to do is wake up in the am and get a little exercise in then - before I take my meds. On most days, once I take my drugs... I feel the way you have described. Stress always leaves me exhausted so I try my best to control that. Have you tried yoga, breathing techniques or meditation? These things may help you to decrease your stress which should give you more energy. Remember nothing is permenant. You're lucky right now to have any income, try to be thankful for that. I was not able to work at all for a long time because of how sick I got, but I made it through and so will you. Try to relax and have faith.

You're having the same problems as I am. Sedatives are useless on me, and I've tried them all. Have you also noticed that you are woken up more easily? That one is harder to tell. I used to be able to sleep through anything. Now, the least little thing wakes me up. My sleep improved after being on abx for a while, but when I had a relapse, my sleep got worse again. After being off of abx for a weeks over the holidays, my sleep is even worse.

I can't believe you can be on your feet all day. I have a desk job, and I still get worn out! LOL!

I don't have an answer yet for the sleep problems. This bug seems to get into the sleep control center of our brains and throws everything out of whack. Meanwhile, I'm just trying to get back on the abx to get rid of this thing.

Hi jennie48.  I am sorry you are feeling so crummy.  I know it can be difficult to work when you have so many symptoms.

Which meds are currently taking?  How long have you been on them?  Do you have any co-infections?  Are you seeing a Lyme knowledgeable doctor?

Have you ever had your thyroid and hormone levels tested?  Lyme can affect these levels.  When they are not optimal, it can cause a lot of symptoms.

Hang in there okay?  It can take time, but you can get better.

HI IH8ticks- I do notice that i get woken up very easily maybe thats why I have broken sleep. The sedative only help me relax and then i can pass out but then after 5hr i am up and cant go back to sleep...then i mite take another 1/2 just so i can go back to bed. I even have tried tylenol pm but that makes me feel really distorted when i wake up in the middle of the night. It is very hard to be on my feet all day, my legs hurt and my knees hurt and i get drained and I get brain fried cause I work in a specialty department and sell flooring and blinds all day and its so tireing....I dont know how i have managed to be on my feet all day i guess i just learned to push myself and not think about my pain in my body....

just today I went to go buy that digital converta box i had the coupon for 40 dollars in my pocket and went to radio shack then went to walmart to get it there and sarted to talk to this old guy about antenas and then i left casue they didnt have any and some how i managed to loss the coupon i drew a blank from when i asked the associated to i got to my car and dont know what happen to it...i was so mad at myself for being brain fried ...

Ticker i am on doxy100mg // omnicef 300mg // celexa 20mg and a sedative....and a multi b complex vitamin. I have been on the abx since october 08...but also tend to forget my dose once in a while cause i need to eat on them and when i get home from work i just dont want to eat and then dont take them. i dont have any co infections and i do see a Lyme doctor. i have my next appointment in april... he says that i dont have a bad case cause i havnt had lyme for a long time but soemtime feel that i should get a second opion...the ri hospital has a lyme clinic and i mite go there...i just dont have the time or money to spend on dr. bills cause my health insurance doesnt cover much. I have never got my hormone or thyroid tested....should i have my lyme dr do that or my gyno cause i go see them in a week and maybe i can ask for some blood work if they would for me.

I am just tired of being tired all the time and feel achy...my kneck pops and cracks still i have to force it to crack to feel better and today i was so brain fog it was horrible....

thank you all for your replys....jennie

Your sleep problems sound exactly like mine. I'm not sure why we wake up so easily. It might be because we're not reaching a deep enough stage of sleep. Sedatives just leave me groggy the next morning. The sleep problems flare up with the rest of my symptoms like brain fog and memory loss. The sleep deprivation makes it even worse.

Are you taking 300mg Omnicef total? I'm 300mg Omnicef twice a day. The 100mg Doxy doesn't sound like much either. I'm also on Zithromax and Plaquenil. You might need to be on more abx if you can tolerate it.

Hi jennie.  I am sorry you misplaced your coupon.  I wonder if you could get another one if you explain what happened?

It does not sound like your dosages are in the range for Lyme treatment.  I think getting another opinion is a good idea.  It cannot hurt.

I think it is important to learn as much as you can so you can get the best treatment.  Have you read Dr. Joseph Burrascano's 2005 Diagnostic Hints and Treatment Guidelines For Lyme and Other Tick Borne Illnesses at http://www.ilads.org/burrascano_0905.html ?  He is one of the top Lyme doctors in the country, and many Lyme doctors follow his protocols.  I also recommend reading the books "Everything You Need To Know about Lyme Disease Second Edition" by Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner and "The Lyme Disease Solution" by Kenneth B. Singleton MD.

Your gyno can test your thyroid function.  It is simple blood testing.  Ask to have the Free T3, Free T4 (besides the T3 and T4), and thyroid antibodies tested in addition to the normal panel.  They are not usually done but are necessary for a comprehensive view.

maybe try my anti depressant,
Cymbalta, I am still on 60 mg. It gives a boost of energy and helps with cronic fatique as well.
For sleeping I was on 10mg of ambien for ever. It put me out. But I never
felt rested either because of my nightmares every night.
I have stopped taking ambein when I got home from envita. It was hard to sleep the first couple of weeks.
I am taking a .5 zanax now and that helps me alot.
But lyme does not let people sleep, it keeps the mind buzzing.
2004 in Martha's Vineyard me and my two daughters then 11 mos and 6 all got Lyme Disease. This was only known to us because we found the tiny ticks on us and we got very ill. My dog also got lyme and he went lame.
We have fought it for 4 years to no avail.
We all got it again this summer is Texas.
I am now in treatment in Scottsdale Arizona at Envita.

I believe all households are entitled to 2 coupons. If you can't get another one I have an extra. Email me with your address if you want it. Try to wear shoes that have really foamy soft thick soles that might help with the concrete floors. Kava Kava and valerian are herbs that help with sleep. I feel for you.Hope you feel better soon sweetie. Blessings

I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I don't know how you stand on your feet all day. That would be hard even if you were not sick.
I agree that you need to see another doctor, an LLMD. The recommended dose for doxy is 300-600mg a day. It makes no sense to not treat this disease aggressively as small doses encourage resistance. You may have a co-infection that you are unaware of because most people are co-infected. The title of your post immediately caught my eye. When I went to the LLMD lack of motivation, brain fog and living in an apathetic state was my primary symptom. As an afterthought I remembered the insomnia, my frequent trips to the bathroom, the pain that never seemed to go away including, strange tearing cramps, my shins always hurting and my eyes feeling dry and irritated. Lyme symptoms wax and wane and the abx did not seem to be helping these symptoms at all. I was given Levaquin to address bartonella. I feel much more clear minded, my energy is returning and I am making plans for the first time in years. One way to check for a co-infection is to take your temperature several times a day, when you wake in the morning before you get up and again in the afternoon. Lyme keeps your body temperature consistantly low but bartonella raises your temp in the morning and then is goes down.
You can go online to look at the symptoms of hypothyroidism which include cold intolerance, hair loss on the body, heavy periods, dry skin and hair, tiredness and weight gain. There are many symptoms that can also be lyme such as confusion, poor memory, brain fog and low body temperature.

nefferdun...i agree that i am not on the right dsage of doxy....i know that alot of people on here are on a higher dose and even this women i know that gores to the same dr is on a hight dose. i think he thinks that i am not a bad case.but i and constant tired since late august and i am getting annoyed with this sympom and need to go on with my every day life and not be so unmotivated. i just graduated from colledge almost a year ago and i have no motivation to look harder that what i am for a new job... I have never been tested for co-infections and want to...i really want to go to the ri hospital ckinic but need to see if my insureance is covered and its only open twice a week....

I have had an headache for about 2-3 weeks strait and the florescent lights at work make my eyes hurt ...i dont have much of an apetite lattly and my kneck pops and cracks still and my knees are much better but i cant lean on them with out them hurting...my job is very physicle s my whole body aches but i try t ignore it.

I am glad that you are feeling better and hope your progress con't........
