Wow so glad ur there!! Well had mono when I was 12...now Much older...:) But different symptoms. swollen glands behind right ear, armpit and tender groin. VERY tired. One dr said I had mono, another said I have fibro. (tested for Lyme...neg) NO fever, no throat problems... mono spot neg, but IgG is High....and IgM positive....everyone agrees that I have had it in the past.....BUT I can't get a straight answer in if this is acute and active..!!

Sounds like Epstein Barr Virus (which is mono). It occurs in people that had mono when they were younger and comes back as EBV. Have you been test for EBV? There are not alot of treatment as its a viral condition, you need to boost your immune system and that will help.   D

Yes I have been tested...that's all the confusion...the interpretation is different depending on which dr I go to....I thought this would be a little more black and white...but yes EBV pos

There is no black and white with EBV, just like with Lyme. EBV is a virus and other than boosting your immune system, I dont know of a "cure." It will be quiet when you get your immune system in better shape. Are you trying to figure out if the lymph swelling is from that or something else? I have lymph swelling in my neck and underarms also. I have tested positive to EBV in the past.  D

Sorry I haven't been on all day. Glad you got some answers. The funny thing is that I believe my EBV (Mono) was acting up today. I am not sure I 100% understand it either. I guess once you have it then your body fights it off but it stays in your body as inactive and never leaves. Or something to that nature. Then if you get really sick (Lyme) and your immune system is weak so it comes out. That is the way I understand it but I may be wrong so don't quote me...LOL

I am taking Cat's Claw and sometimes Ester C. I think they both boost immune systems. I also am about to take Olive Leaf Extract which I think might help. See below.

http://www.kcweb.com/herb/catsclaw.htm

Olive Leaf Extract is an antibacterial, antiviral and antiparasitic substance. http://www.naturalhealthconsult.com/Monographs/oliveleaf.html

So do you have Lyme also?

Oh thanks everyone. good to know that I am not the only one....another forum said something about Chronic fatigue then it goes into Fibromyalgia....eek!

Anyone hear about Vit B shots for Mono~? And does anyone one know how to read the blood results? This IgG and IgM is confusing.

oh, it is just a side effect~ It should say in the product insert, and have a sticker on the outside of the bottle....It can make you "fuzzy" too....
