bcaring, I am very sorry this happened.  I am glad you found it and saved it.  How did you remove it?

Unfortunately, each tick bite has the possibility of transmitting any combination of Lyme and co-infections.  I highly recommend having the tick tested at IgeneX, especially for co-infections since your protocol seems to be for Lyme. 

I don't blame you for being tired of this!

Once again, thank you so much for the advice. I didn't have the presence of mind to thing of Igenex testing - which is a great idea.

Ticker - I removed it by grabbing its head and pulling straight out. It was very much alive when I put it in the bag.

I hope you are doing a little bit better these days. I couldn't help but respond to your post telling us that they are putting up signs in your neighborhood warning about ticks! Do Germans know and understand about Lyme or is it also difficult to get people educated? I know Britian and some of the Eastern countries are not very aware.

I have never seen that done in the US although maybe they do it in areas of Connecticut. I don't know.

Let me know what the state of lyme awareness is in Europe.

I did look at Igenex, and it is $65 for each test - Lyme, Bartonella, Erlichiosis, Babesia.

I always enjoy exchanging thoughts with you!

I would say a lot of people here start to know and understand about Lyme but it is difficult to get those people educated who make the treatment rules etc.
So I assume we are basically in a similar position here.

As we have some epidemic regions for a tick borne disease called "early summer meningitis" there is a high awareness of ticks being a risky affair...that makes it much easier now with Lyme. It`s clearly said that it`s all over Europe and in genereal Lyme is regarded to be a worldwide disease.
We had many reports on tv stating that lyme should be taken very seriously and may not be easy to cure - which means a lot !!!
Statistics say that at some places 50% of the ticks carry lyme and /or co-infections.

I am more or less ok, took abx cream again for 4 weeks for my eyes, this time something with erythromycin - its said that this should help with lyme; and then used Euphrasia officinalis (made a tea which I use for eye dorps) - it worked (till now).

I went a purchased about 3 or 4 more pair of good tweezers and keep them here and there; to include the vehicle. You can make up a little kit. You'd be surprised how often they've been used and moreso for others.

We've had people show up at our door now w/imbedded ticks b/c of knowing our daughter's journey and asking for help w/removal. No kidding.
