Hello everyone,
this is my first lyme conversation. I recently had a child, at 7 months pregnant i developed back pain, i thought it was the baby weight. Nope it became worse and worse and continued after Era's ( my daughter) birth. I believe this would be called lymphocytic meningitis. Then my knee and pointer finger swelled up largely and to the point i could not bend either. And much, neck stiffness total back pain. I was given 3 cycles of steroids this took the swelling down. Now the diagnosis is not known. I believe it is lyme. What do u guys think? I have had 5 serologic tests negative for lyme but we all know those are worthless. i live near youngstown ohio need a lyme doc ive heard about the new Qribb tests (quantative rapid identfication of borrilia b) it is the only test that finds the bacteria not the antibodies that may be blunted in chronic lyme causing neg test results. I believe I have chronic lyme triggered by my pregnancy. Now all those days of sleeping till 3 pm at 13 years old make sense. 25 years old now.
I am also developing moles so many I hate it! I heard BB hides behind melenin to escape antibodies. so why do these docs ignore it all i need to know to protect my daughter who may have it too.. what do u guys think does it sound like lyme, and do you know of lyme docs near youngstown or cleveland or pittsburg ohio?

Veromia333, Hello, I am sorry you have to deal with this especially after having a baby. The fact is that pregnancy can cause one to not have lyme symptoms while pregnant, but after the baby is born then the symptoms come out more. Maybe that is what happened to you. If you have lyme perhaps your child does too. Be sure to read the sticky threads at the top of the forum page so you can get needed information for newcommers and read all you can to educate yourself because you will be your best advocate. Most doctors in main stream medicine are not knowlegable about this disease. Ticker can probably direct you to a lyme literate doctor.

It sound like you very well could have lyme and maybe co-infections. Be sure to go to a Lyme literate doctor and not waste your time with ones that are ignorant and will not treat symptoms. Many times the tests are not accurate. It will not be cheap or quick but you can get better. The longer you wait the worse things get.

Welcome to the forum this is the best place to get support and valuable information. All of the members have been through or are going through the mill and understand. Many are new mothers and mothers of children who also have lyme. Be strong and be vigilant you are not alone. Blessings

Email stephanie@turnthecorner.org for lyme doctors in your area.

Get yourself and the baby there asap.
