I also heard that the chimpanzee who attacked the woman in Connecticut had Lyme.

ummmmm - does calling 911 on one's own brother count (2 sheriffs came)? Or, screaming so hard at one's husband that he walks out of the therapy session?

I seem to be handling the "rage" thing much better now..... I try to reserve it for people more deserving like crappy doctors.

I apparently yelled at my former boss and pointed my finger at him while doing so.

I didn't remember doing it. Another person in the room said it was so out of character for me.

That was four years ago.

The first LLMD I saw was also a psychiatrist and a Lyme patient herself. She was the first time I heard about Lyme rage.

At a Lyme support group I also met some one who was having Lyme Rage. He actually got on the road to Lyme treatment because of the rage.

Meds:
Biaxxin
Plaquenil
Spectracef
Acidophilus
Generic protonix for acid relux
Cat's Claw
Celebrex
Ambien
Time Release Melatonin

Oh yeah, I have been on the other end of it too many times to count. The Lyme Rage landed hubby (undiagnosed) in the hospital, after I had a neighbor call 911. He was being treated at the time for and Intermittent Explosive Disorder and Bipolar 2. No wonder the psych meds only made him worse as it was Lyme all along.

He never hurt me or our kids, but he'd throw sofas like they were nothing.
I had the kids know to go to a neighbor's house if I told them too- no questions.

I see it sometimes in my DS when he is herxing/flaring from his Lyme/Bart treatment.

None of our regular or psych drs had heard of this-- even when we gave them a pamphlet we printed from the net, they dismissed it.
As soon as we saw our llmd, she said she sees it all of the time.

"Has anyone reading this post experienced Lyme Rage?"

Yup. I threw a knife at someone, chased someone through a park and through town with a car, tried to plunge a screwdriver into someone's chest plus more. It was pretty scary.

Fortunately, I never physically hurt anyone and the rage was the first thing to leave when I began treatment.
