Hi everyone,

I just got back from my ssa hearing and was awarded benifets based on Chronic Lyme.  I've been sick since 12/05.  The judge usually doesnt tell you his decision right there, but he did...  I cant believe it.  I will have to go to a review in 18 months to see if Im still eligible as this disease is "curable".  And I pray it willbe as Im tired of being sick and living the life of a lymie.    So I'm still fighting.... but now with a little less stress. The judge questioned me for about 10 minutes... then he asked how my disease had impacted my ability to raise my five year old, and thats when I lost it and broke down.... as its affected that area of my life considerably... after that he said I am granting you disability.....   My lawyer didnt even have to say a word... the voc specialist wasnt asked anything at all.....  after all this, I wasnt expecting it to be that easy.... God has cut me a break.... I am so greatful....  SO all of you out there still struggling, keep up the fight.... miracles do happen....

Joanne

I am happy for you. He knew you were speaking the truth and knew it was the right thing to do.

Hope you get better soon. You are still young and have every reason to look forward to a life of feeling good.

Joanne, This disease is so hard, it's nice when someone listens and doesn't just discount what you're saying. Wishing you a full recovery. Take Care, KO

Congratulations, Joanne!

Do you have any other medical conditions which affected the judge's opinion? I guess you might have to wait to see what they state in written form?

Regardless, I wish you a successful recovery!

I hate this sentence, but I'll say it anyway -

Congratulations on your disability!  Now, I hope they leave you alone long enough so that you can concentrate on getting better!  rolleyes
