Hi all,

Of late, I have been blending organic veggies and fruits and drinking them.  These are really healthy and I buy most of my ingredients at Costco (organic).

Below is a link to Recipes:

Anyone else try this?

Hi Deejavu (cute handle btw),

Good topic.
Yes, I have been an avid green smoothie drinker for over a year. I have a VitaMix and it is FANTASTIC for the body. Do you have a high-powered blender by chance?
When we have the correct nutrients (organic if possible), it puts the body into more of an alkaline state. Disease can't live in an alkaline environment (it makes it much harder for them to survive). Unfortunately the antibiotics we are all on make the body acidic, and it's not a good place for us to be in. I was drinking 40-50 ounces per day, but my system has since taken a downward spiral (my whole body really, long story) and I had to take a break from the green smoothies. It is important to use lots of dark leafy greens and minimize the amount of fruits (yeast, candida, etc).

Have you added any powders or extra ingredients to them by chance? I started adding Macca Power (good for hormonal support), flax oil, chia seeds, etc.
When I started out, I wasn't aware that some fruits and greens/veggies weren't supposed to be mixed together. You know what? I used to know them by the back of my hand, now with my lyme brain, I forget. I do know that mixing leafy greens with fruits and veggies is not good for the digestive system. Fruit in general, should not be mixed with veggies except for Apples, Avocado, Lemon and Lime. I will have to find out where I wrote down the "green smoothie" rules again. ha. I hate LYME BRAIN!!!!! It is OK to mix fruits with leafy greens, but not fruit with veggies (except for the 4 I listed). There's an awesome website
I listed below-you can sign up for her newsletter and she has some interesting stuff.

I am jealous you have a Costco near you for wholesale organic ingredients! That is so wonderful. Are you still making green smoothies?? How do you feel?

The Dr. Oz Green Drink is good.  You can see the recipe at http://hubpages.com/hub/Dr-Oz-Green-Drink-Recipe-Intructions

Sounds good. I have a juicer and access to Costco. I just need some organic spinach to get started.
I think some of the vegetables you do not want to mix together are things like cabbage, broccoli etc and tomato which won't even grow together well! Carrots and tomato is good. I really love carrot juice but it is sweet.
