I had PICC line inserted on 3/19 and started IV Rocephin on 3/20.  This past week I started to experience a pain and achiness in my right leg that I never experienced before.  Today I started having a lot of pain in the right side of my neck.  It feels sort of like a spasm that is not being helped by pain meds.  I've had neck stiffness and pain in my neck all along but not this type of isolated spasm-like pain.

Also still experiencing some discomfort in the arm the PICC was inserted.  The entry site is fine and not red or swollen but I feel discomfort coming from inside the entire length of my arm.  The nurse who comes to my home says it looks fine and I spoke to the doctor's office today and they also do not seemed concerned but said if it does not go away I should go for a sonogram.  Is this normal?  How much longer should I give it?

Is all of this considered normal in our "lyme world"?   I usually handle symptoms and pain very well but am still a little freaked out at having the PICC in me.  lol

Gracie's Mom, Thanks for letting me know that Gracie and others have experienced this. What you explained makes perfect sense and sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. I just hope it calms down and I don't have to deal with this the entire six months or so.

I've been eating pretty well and taking supplements but will check into my magnesium and potassium levels.

I'm so sorry for all that poor Gracie has been through. Many times when I'm feeling bad for myself I think of Gracie and others. It's so unfair, but especially so when it comes to children.

Thanks for your good wishes.
