I just wanted to share some great news I just received.  Maybe, just maybe, the tides are starting to change.  lol  My coverage for IV Rocephin and nursing have been extended for an additional two months for a total of 90 days.  My fantastic llmd originally wrote a script for 90 days to begin with but warned me that Empire BC/BS in NY never covers more than 28 days.  I was told the same exact thing by the nursing care company and even the case manager at BC/BS told me she's never had a case where medical review approved more than 28 days.
I realize that antibiotics are not the "be-all end-all" and do not work for many but this is a huge step for me since I've been so sick for so many years and only recently received a diagnosis.
Hopefully, this is a small sign that Lyme Disease is finally being taken more seriously by the insurance companies.

That is wonderful news!
I hope that you are right and that ins co's are starting to feel the pressure of people who know about lyme. Not those IDSA idiots.

Thanks. Now I'm hoping that I'll eventually see substantial improvement, as others have reported, with Rocephin. I realize there are no guarantees but right now I think this might be my best shot. I'm also taking Zithro, Mepron, Mino, Artesemisin and numerous other supplements, in addition to trying to eat as healthy as possible. I have already started to see subtle changes and improvements for the first time in many years so I'm hopeful that I might eventually get back at least part of my life. I wish this not only for myself but for all of us.

I hope the approval for my treatment is not a matter of luck and more an indication that others are also now being approved for the medical treatment they rightly deserve.

With the help and wealth of knowledge on this forum, I hope to learn as much as possible about alternative treatments, including herbs, for when I'm ready to start eliminating the antibiotics.
