I have done it for about 3 months last year. I was amazed about how well it worked.
I had to stop due to some other med changes and i had to isolate what was doing what.
I am planning on starting back up on it soon.
If nothing else. To do it for just a few months to clear out your gut is worth it alone.
Some people have gone on to do it for years and claim it will kill the lyme disease along with other infections.
I would for sure look into how to start and ramp up and do it in a control and methodical way. Some of the information out there can be confusing and some people start out with the Recommended dose for their weight. That is not the recommended dose to start with though and that can be hard to figure out right away. It is like other things including ABX when you have to start out slow and give time inbetween before you dose up.
I used to have a chart that showed a good example of how to dose up and I will have to look for that.
Also making sure you are using quality Sea Salt that is natural and pure and not stripped down and as well a good C as well. I used powdered C so I could mix it with the Salt in water. Some people make capsules and swallow the ingredients.
Let me know if you decide to do it..

DH (LymeinNJ) started salt/c a few weeks ago. I know he was expecting to herx big time, but he never really did. But- he has had a few good days in there, which wasn't happening before.

keepHope- do you remember how long it took for you to see a difference?

He is making up capsules, and regular Vit C. he read that Ester C is the best to use, so we are going to look for that next.

He also joined a Yahooo group for this- hopefully he will see this thread and can post the link- or it might even be on lymephotos.com (net?) Ugh- can't remember for the life of me... why is that??? LOL

Anyway, if you google for it, I am sure it will come up.

I just read about this in the book I just bought - it's good to read the responses to see how it works.

You're supposed to take the same amount of C as the salt you're taking. I started with 3 grams of salt and 3 grams of C twice a day and I'm up to 4 grams of each twice a day now. You're only supposed to start with 1 gram of each, but I'm impatient. I've read so many good things about this protocol, but I haven't had a herx yet, which is supposed to happen almost immediately from what I've read. I'm going to keep upping my dose every week until I hit my max, which should be about 18 grams of each throughout the day. (1 gram of salt and i gram of C for each 10 lbs. of body weight). 18 grams of each is the maximum anyone should take so if you're over 180 lbs, do not take more than 18 grams of each.

The Yahoo group that I got a lot of information from is at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/lymestrategies/
You have to join to have access to the files, links and to post messages, but it's free.

Good luck

Right now I'm using Miracle Krystal Salt, but sea salt will work as well.

This type of regimen can be very dangerous... Sea Salt is 98% sodium and excess sodium can cause problems with electrolyte imbalance, fluid retention, heart and kidney problems, stroke, gastric cancer, high blood pressure and osteoporsis. Please be careful and make sure you monitor your electrolytes and blood pressure. Extra sodium can be dangerous particularly with children, the elderly and those that are salt sensitive. Sorry but I think this can cause more harm than good.
