Hello

I am new to this site. My 12 year old daughter has chronic lyme and babesia. She was on iv anti bio for over a year, and decided to start the cowden for 3 weeks. Has anyone on the cowden program experienced blurred vision. Not sure if it is from the herbs /or herxing?

Does anyone know if you can take a break while on the Cowden protocol? I have a vacation planned in the fall for two weeks and I want to be able to eat and drink freely plus I'm concerned about taking all those bottles on the plane internationally. Are you able to just stop for two weeks or continue the protocol but eat whatever you want for two weeks? I want to start this asap, but don't want to start if I can't take my vacation (already paid for) without losing all of the progress I made. Thank in advance for any guidance on this.

I'm doing Buhner's protocol and recently had to take a partial break due to sickness. I did have worsened symptoms at first but it subsided after I added back the Japanese knotweed and a couple antimicrobials at reduced dosages.

Fall is a long way off in Lyme time. A lot can happen between now and then.

Is this going to be your first attempt at treatment? How long have you been sick? How bad are your symptoms?

I think that’s one of benefits of herds. Just take as normal on vac.

Hi,

Just diagnosed with chronic or stage 4 Lyme.

Been doing cowden protocol for 28days, took a week break, now starting back up today.

I started on 100mg of doxy 2xs a day.

I experienced herxing the second day on due to severe die-off.

My doctor then said to take a break because of the severe herxing.

I just started day 29 and back up with cefuroxime axetil 500mg 2xs a day.

For me, I experienced herxing throughout the 28days and the week off.

I had 2 good days.

I'm nowhere near improvement, but I'm here with you.

Here is my personal opinion: 1) If you're sick now, start the program NOW. Don't hold back because you have a trip planned 6 months from now. 2) While vacation is important, your health is more important. Plan on taking the protocol with you on your vacation by packing the little bottles back in their original shipping box and putting them inside your checked luggage (I have done this many times without issue). 3) No, you can't just eat and drink whatever you want for two weeks and expect not to relapse. Modify your vacation in your mind. You can still enjoy yourself while eating and drinking healthy. Again, your health and getting better is most important.
