For a couple of seconds my speech was garbled. My brain knew what I wanted to say but the words I was trying to say, "shoulder surgery", came out like I was drunk. Is this a symptom of Lyme? Thanks.

I believe so. I experience this quite often.

Try apples and B complex. They now have research that these things will help with memory etc.

Momtothree, Yes it certainly does get scary at times. You should let your doctor know. Have you had any brain scans? Sometimes abnormalities will show up on SPECT scans and MRI's.
Hopingtofindcure, I already eat apples but will definitely try the B complex.

I'm not sure if I ever sound drunk but words do come out weird for me. Sometimes, if I'm thinking of two words, they somehow come out together as one word. Or I'll say something totally different from what I want to say. Lately, when I read, I see a word a certain way when it's spelled different than what I see. For example....I saw the word bar and thought it was bra. I've never been dyslexic in my entire life so I have no clue what's going on. Sometimes when my brain is working slow and I'm on the phone, words don't come out right and I think that the person on the other line might think I'm drunk, LOL.

I am dyslexic so I have never paid much to it till lately on here.but to me its seems as tho I am worst at it then usealy. then again it shows up in my when i'm tried and thats been 24/7 for a long time now.
Odd that 1 lil tick can couse so much trouble for us. and everyone thinks we are nuts or just out for meds.
wishing the best for everyone.

Rottendog,
Does dyslexia cause letters to be mixed up like that? Like what I posted above? It's weird that this is all of a sudden happening to me.

it does, when i was just starting school my teachers told my mom was retered, she took my to a specailest who said if i could go to a school for the blind i would be a straght A. he explaned it like this ( hold up a paper and try to read it, then move it up and down, this is how i was it ) anyways i am the world worst at spelling due to this and the onely one i know who can spel the eht without thinking..lol
if you noest at night i'm more mixed up in my typing.kinda like my brain is tired, and my eyes dont see the mistakes. they call it like haven a crossedwirer. i am also very bad at seeing a few letters to a word and then saying the first thing that comes to my mind and not even be close to the word i am looking at...lol
i hope this helps

It happened to me alot while I was sick, and I can carry on conversations perfectly now, it gets better with treatment, mine got worse first and than better, I used to go to social events and make sure I had one person I was comfortable with and only smile because I knew I couldnt say what I wanted to say,I sometimes ended up just saying some sounds out of frustration of having it on the tip of my tongue and couldnt bring it out

Oh my goodness. All of this sounds exactly like what I experience every single day. It's so frustrating and very embarrassing.
Judy3, I am so glad it has gotten better for you and hope it does for the rest of us too.
