Two Questions:

--I was bit last summer, the only thing that came out of it was skin sensativity.  Then a few weeks ago I was bit again, I had the skin sensativity but other lyme symptoms as well this time.  Is it possible for me to have had lyme since last summer but not have any real noticeable symptoms until after this recent one??

--I've recently notices my hands feel as if they have chemical burns..this mostly happens when water runs over them or I have my arm hangin out the window...it feels tingly, pin-prick and burning..so odd.  My doc (family doc) told me thats just the toxins coming out of my skin from the doxy i'm on.  Does this sound right?  I need to convince my parents I need to go to an LLMD?

THANK YOU!

1 - Yes, it is possible for Lyme to lie dormant for a long period of time before you get symptoms. The second bite could have triggered the activity of the alread-present Lyme.
2 - Skin sensitivity could be a die-off reaction (herx) caused by the antibiotics...or could be a symptom of the Lyme infection itself.

Check out the thread at the top of the forum titled, "The Basics - Newbies, check this out!"

Take care,
