Hi kendal.  What meds are you taking?  Some meds can leave a bad taste in your mouth.  If you have oral yeast, this can make food taste weird also.

I believe Lyme can do this, too. I've had a super sensitive set of taste buds most all my life, and it seems to vary from day to day. Sometimes, things would taste so bad I'd nearly get sick from it but other times the exact same food would taste just fine.

To kill yeast in the mouth, you may need an oral rinse of antifungal medication or herbs.

Good luck,

Things taste bland.

I feel bland.

Tastes is controlled by cranial nerve VII. Same nerve as Bell's Palsy. Go figure.

Food is my passion. So...it's a bummer too.
Bit June 08. Treated with 10 days of doxy 200 mgs.

Issues in Aug. Retreated in Sept. 08. Six weeks doxy 200 mgs.

Add Biaxin for six months.

Stopped all treatment for six weeks.

Still on doxy 200 mgs after another recent rash!

Doing okay but want to make sure I rid myself of it or any remaining stuff.

At the beginning of taking hydroxychloriquine, I had a nasty taste in my mouth. That went away after a couple weeks.

I started taking Artemisinin 3 tabs/BID without problem. I increased it to 5 tabs/BID and started having the worst taste ever!!!! I could hardly stand drinking water because it tasted like bitter weeds! It was bad. I stopped the Art for a while and the bad taste is gone.

Liquid Andrographis gives a real bad taste also!! I switched to capsules.

much luck

Hi kendal.  Does your tongue have a white coating?  If so, you could have oral yeast (thrush).

Do you take high-quality acidophilus at least two hours apart from the antibiotics?  Antibiotics will kill even the good bacteria in your system, so it is important to take the acidophilus to replace them and to prevent yeast overgrowth.  The best ones to get are refrigerated and have a high culture count such as 9 billion per capsule.  Most health food stores carry them.

Check the pharmacy print-outs for the meds you are taking to see if they can affect taste.
