hello,
looks like a found a very helpful site upon my surfing on this disease.

i'll start off by saying i had muscle aches, mostly in my back and then in my sides for about a week or more. Went to the ER and they told me i'm sore due to running (which i ran 20 miles the week prior, which is a little out of my normal range) they gave me a shot to ease the pain, which lasted about 12 hrs, then the pain came back. I was confused. This all happened on May 5th. Around may 18th, the pain went away mostly, but then i started to lose weight from not eating, wasn't sexually active (just didn't care). Headaches started and then i started to get weak and fatigued and i wasn't really doing anything. Work seemed impossible, i would go home and just lay down until the next morning, and do it all over again.

Fast foward to a couple of days ago, May 25th i started feeling really sick at work, started to sweat and became light headed, developed a dry cough a few days earlier. i couldn't believe it, i thought i was seriously dying from some type of cancer or something. Went to the ER again and was checked out, did a chest x ray and told me i was fine, but i wasn't leaving without any meds. i told them i needed some antibiotics. They prescribed Doxy and prednisone. I took both the drugs last night, i wake up this morning and noticed a red circle rash with a clear patch in the middle. Looks like the classic lyme disease. i have a doctors appointment set up for friday to show him the rash. I'm taking both meds as of now, it just seems weird that the rash appeared about 24 days after my first spell. and never saw any ticks on me then. But about a week ago, actually 6 days ago i noticed a tick on me while i was sleeping. so i assumed the rash was from 6 days ago, but i guess it could've been from the first of may and just started to show up.

cliffs; pain started may 5th, went to the ER twice within the last 3 weeks and nothing was conclusive. saw a tick on me 6 days ago, and now i have a rash.

If you have Lyme, don't take the Prednisone - it will greatly reduce your body's ability to help overcome the Lyme. Also, take a photo of the rash. Put a ruler or a coin next to it for size comparison.

Check out the thread at the top of the forum titled, "The Basics - Newbies, check this out!"

And you might want to make a separate post asking for recommendations for Lyme-Literate doctors (LLMD's) in your area.

Take care,

Take a picture of the rash and date it.... that way you'll always have 'proof' of being bitten. And, try to see a Lyme literate doctor as soon as possible. Since your symptoms seem pretty recent, you may catch it in time with a good antibiotic regiment from a good doctor.

All the best.

i took a couple of pictures and i'll post the links to a couple of them, so anyone on here can see if infact it looks like lyme. i'm going to call a specialist at the university hospital today. and try to get in asap. i saw that you guys said to stop the presdnisone. will this do any harm since i started it 2 days ago? they wanted me to take it for 7 days, 2 pills a day.

can anyone tell from the pics above if it looks like lyme? i'm just curious, because today the bruise didn't get any bigger or redder, it just stayed the same, maybe even cleared up some. i've been on doxy for 3 days, just seems kinda weird.
