My nurse has been coming to my home at least once a week for the last 11 weeks and next week will probably be my last week covered for nursing visits.  She has been fantastic and I would like to do something to show my appreciation but am not sure what is appropriate.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi scorpio1960.  How nice of you to want to do something for your nurse.

How about a gift card?  I think banks sell Visa gift cards that can be used anywhere like a credit card.  If you get one of these, be sure to tell her to use it soon or they start deducting from the balance (which is crazy!).  Or maybe you could give her a gift card from Starbucks or another store.

I am sure it will mean a lot to her that you are thinking of her.

When I did my clinicles at the hospital, I sent the phlebotomist who trained me a cute little flower bouqet.

A cute little edible arrangement would be nice too if you have any in your area.

Ticker, Thanks for the suggestion. I originally wanted to get her a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure at a salon she mentioned but am just not well enough to get there. Actually, I could probably order a bank or amex gift card online. Problem solved!

CajunGrl, Great ideas. I'm just not sure how often she goes into the office so I'm not sure about having anything sent to her. I thought of the edible arrangements too but I just found out she is on a diet and I don't want to sabotage it. Those cute little chocolate covered fruit are delicious though. lol

Another idea is a gift card to Amazon.com, which can be ordered online and sent via email or regular mail. Just a thought...

Razzle, I just checked out the amazon gift cards and they can also be printed out immediately after purchase. Now, I don't have to worry about getting her e-mail address, figuring out where and when to have something delivered, waiting for something to be delivered to me or hoping I feel well enough to leave my house which is very difficult for me to do these days. Perfect idea for many occasions to come. Thanks!

I order from Amazon all the time but never realized they had gift cards. The fact that you can just print them out makes it even more convenient.

Very convenient indeed. I get my Batherapy and Sombra from them. It's alot cheaper too.
