I was just sitting here thinking how long I have had this disease and how it started. I remember the panic, anxiety and heightened senses and being told I had a panic disorder. Obviously, feeling like I was going to pass out in the middle of being woken up from a deep sleep went in with panic too. After that happened, I was in and out of the doctors office with flu-like symptoms and swollen lymph nodes. This happened at least every 3-4 months and I was told it was some kind of weird flu that was going around but was always put on antibiotics and got better. Then, there was the time I was admitted into the hospital with flu-like symptoms....again, plus a very stiff neck. The doctor I was seeing then thought I may have meningitis. Did a spinal tap, everything was good besides a slight pressure in my spinal fluid but the fluid was clear. Well, they do more blood work and say I have a urinary tract infection so treat me for that. For 3 days I was pumped up with two different antibiotics. On the first night I woke up with a bad stonach ache and had whole body tremors really bad. The nurses rushed in my room thinking it was low blood sugar, pricked my finger while I was moving all over, and my blood sugar was fine. By the 3rd day of having antibiotics pumped into me, I felt great. I never put two and two together until now. It was Lyme Disease all along. Why in the hell didn't any doctor see this!!!!! That's why I'm so mad. If I would have been diagnosed then, I wouldn't be so bad off now!! These doctors need to get more educated in this disease and when I do get better I am going to do something about it so no one has to go through what I went through. This is just uncalled for and this should have been caught earlier.
