I took my first Diflucan pill yesterday. I felt like things were a THOUSAND times worse than EVER. I couldn't really do anything...I couldn't type - it was like my brain just wouldn't tell my body the right things to do. I had a hard time placing my hand over the light switch to turn it off. It felt SO WEIRD.

I'm 5 days into treatment...I don't know if it was the Diflucan or what (that is the only variable that changed yesterday besides not getting much sleep the night before). I only took the pill because I was getting a yeast infection and I wanted to stop it. Screw that! I'm doubling up on the probiotics before I ever touch Diflucan again.

On the up-side...I woke up today and SO FAR it doesn't feel like the ground is moving beneath me so much.

Maybe it was some die off...maybe it's the treatment...who knows...but I don't know if I could suffer with taking Diflucan every day (I'm supposed to but I thought it would be too much for me).

Did anyone else have serious problems with this drug?

Hi Jendays,

I haven't started ABs treatment yet, because I have many symptoms and I am afraid of starting them.

But I take vitamins and supplements and I started to take Diflucan too. I take 100mg, 2 times/ week. I am very sensitive for things in general but I can say that I feel nothing after taking Diflucan.

So it does nothing with lyme in my case.

hi,
I'm on Diflucan for almost three months now. I started it at the same time as a Candida diet. The things I noticed were more bloating the first week and because of the candida diet I felt VERY hungry and VERY irritated the first two weeks.
Yeast symptoms can be much alike Lyme symptoms sometimes...

Hi there,

I took diflucan, just one 150 mg pill, and I had a severe die off reaction.  I'm assuming it was candida, although there are some docs that believe that it effects lyme.  After the single dose, I got another pill about 1 week later, and did not have quite an intense reaction.  When I finally was on it daily, I had no die off reaction.  Im not a doc, however, I would keep taking it, because its doing something to the yeast, or bacteria, and in my case, the die off reaction stopped.  Ofcourse, discuss it with you phys, I just wanted to let you know what happened to me.

I'm still pushing through...my symptoms come and go all day long so I guess that's better than them being constant like they were a couple of weeks ago...I do have moments where I can tell differences but they are very, very small.

I have two more days of Flagyl and then three weeks off. I will know if I'm getting a PICC or not in the next couple of days. Still waiting for insurance...they do take their sweet time approving or denying!

I haven't felt quite well enough to come to the computer much...this is how my mom can tell that I'm really sick...I NEVER stay away from the computer, and I'm only spending about 5-10 mins/day on it now!

If I had a Blackberry or if my laptop worked, I'd probably never get up!
