I was just wondering if anyone could help me with a question!
I have many of the symptoms associated with Lyme Disease, however I do not have any arthritis of the joints.
Weeks after I had a tick bite I did have a sore neck and back which lasted a few months but slowly went away.
Ever since then (a few years) I have had increasing symptoms but no arthritis.
Is it possible to have Lyme disease without the arthritis?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jerry543,
I have some accasional joint pain, but it's not one of my more serious symptoms. So my opinion would be yes it is possible to have Lyme, or a coinfection without having arthritis.

Yes. Some with Lyme deal with primarily neurological symptoms and don't have the joint pain symptoms.

I had every symptoms imaginable other than joint pain for three years. An occasion stabbing joint pain but never aching joints. Only after being given steroids for an inflammed thyroid did my joint pain start and keep going!! I always had the neck ache and muscle aches but never the joints until now.

Thanks for the help everybody.
It is so nice to be able to find support, really makes things easier.
Another issue I was wondering about is if anyone has bowel issues as a result of lyme disease?

Hi again Jerry543,

Yes bowl ( GI ) issues can be caused from Lyme, or other coinfections. I have tested positive for Erlichiosis, and borderline positive for Bartonella. GI issues have been my worst, most consistant symptom.

Have you been tested for coinfections yet?

Thanks serongative,

I was tested positive for borderline Bartonella as well. I dont know if I was tested for Erlichiosis. My main symptoms are GI issues as well as numbness in extremeties. Everything seems to be getting worse. I didn't know if the GI issues are a result of the LD but it is nice to know that Im not alone.
