I've been experiencing this for a while now, but I never really knew if it was related or not. Does anyone have joint stiffness and pain in the cold? I find when my hands are cold it hurts to bend my fingers and is more difficult to do so.

Also, I've noticed lately (this could have to do with not getting around much) that my legs feel sort of stiff when I try to bend them. I've had some knee pain which I think is attributed to my hips being really out of alignment along with me pretty much laying down all day long.

Does this all sound 'lyme-like' ?
Current treatment (began June 10th 2009):
Biaxin 1000mg/day, Pulsing Flagyl 500mg/day 1 Week Every Month

I cant say its lyme-like but is me all the way. i have dealt with everything you stated for many many yrs now.

its 1 of the main reasons why i moved to Tx. where it is HOT!! they cold makes me hurt everywere, and no matter how hight i turn up the temp in the house i cant stop it.

what i have found to help my joints the most is very hot baths, i mean as hot as you can stand it. i stay inthe tub till the water cools down. i aways look beet red afterwards but i feel so much better. its a relife no pill can give me.

praying for ya . hope this is a help

Jen,

That is some of what I go through especially not being able to bend my fingers. My fingers get real stiff and they hurt really bad. I am also very stiff in the morning and have problems with my knees hurting if I keep them bent for too long. You can look back at my posts about all of this. I think all of this is Lyme. Maybe Lyme Arthritis.

Ugh...if I keep my legs stretched out or bent for too long it is hard to get them used to walking again!

CG-this happens to you in the cold or all of the time?

I didn't really notice if it was worse in the cold but I wasn't as bad last year as I am now. Now it happens most of the time. When I stretch my leg out after it's been bent for a while, it hurts like hell and all you hear me saying is, "Ow Ow Ow Ow"!!!!!!

I totally understand.

I wondered if 'burning muscles' is a lyme thing too. I get this in my thighs and it's becoming more frequent. I'll just be sitting there and it will suddenly feel like I did a thousand upper thigh exercises and starts to burn badly.

Hey Jen, Yes the joint pain and burning muscle are all because of LD.

Since starting treatment in February, I no longer have joint pain or stiffness and rarely have body pain. Now if only the meds would help the fatigue, neck/head pain and brain issues.

Hang in there and give the meds time to work their magic.

I do think the cold intensifies symptoms for many people. For me, I don't think the cold makes it any worse but of course I could be remembering incorrectly. I do that quite a bit. lol I'll think a symptom wasn't too bad until it coms back and then I remember just how bad it was. lol

I do notice that I generally feel worse overall when it's rainy.

I hope the meds start helping some.
