Do people still have one lingering symptom if theyre in remission?

I have been declared in remission by a reputable LLMD but I still have days where I have that stiff neck feeling.. Could this be some leftover lyme issues or does lyme symptoms mean active lyme/co infections?

My LLMD has told me that it can take up to a year to feel "normal" after a long bout with Lyme.

Not sure if that is so...but makes alot of sense that your body has alot of recovering to do!

I agree with 1bitten2xshy. Our bodies have been damaged by this disease. i think it will take time for it to recover. Just keep a close watch out and let your Lyme doctor know what's going on.

hezzer926 -
I'm technically in remissiom. All my labs look pretty good, though. I have them checked every couple months.

3+ months after my antibiotic treatment, the arthritis finally faded to the point that it was only in my extremities. My index finger on my right hand an a couple of toes on my left foot. It still flares up worse adn i get swollen knuckles around my period. But I dont' have to take medication any more, and and I've gotten physically active again!
Recently, I've been getting pain in my right shoulder again, where the worst of the arthritis originally was.

Compared to the pain i was in before, I think a little arthritis, even at my age, is nothing to complain about.

So I guess my point is, yes, in my experience, being in remission doesnt' mean symptom free. It means feeling well enough to function normally.

My neck is still slightly crackly sounding and my knees still have some stiffness and creaking. Thought they were doing better, but overdid it and my hamstrings tightened up and so did the knees. One Lymph node on the side of my neck is still slightly swollen, but I read that they can take time to resolve. Could be that the muscles and tendons take time to get used to activity again, and the whole body takes time to detox. I think a lot of my issues even from before Lyme were from the need to really detox my system. I had done cleanses before, but nothing regularly or consistantly.

I really didnt think i was in that phase at all but all i can say is i definitely think breaks from antibiotics are needed.. after a few weeks, i felt better off of them than on them

Hi hezzer926,

my neighbor who was in remission for 6 months said she still had issues but they were mild compaired to b4 remission. i am sad to say it only lasted 6 months for her.

i am happy your in remission now and i pray you stay in it. that would be awesome for you.

Hezzer,

I agree too that breaks from antibiotics works. I've actually been doing that when I have a bad herd and have noticed how much better I feel off of antibiotics. I still have a long road ahead of me but at least I'm seeing improvements.

I'm so glad you are in remission. You give all of us hope:)

since the time I am in remission I still have had problems. First yeast related symptoms and my thyroid is slow. And since three months, after a flu (or something like it) painful neck, cracking, fatigue, stiff joints, my whole body feels extremely tired. Symptoms come and go.

I don't know if it is still Lyme or something else.
