I think it is a good idea to test your little one for lyme and coinfections. My daughter probably got the infections while in the womb, had her own tick bites too, while growing up, but she was 16 before she was diagnosed! I would not want anyone to go that route!!
Seems that many lymers have thyroid nodules. I went through that scare too. Went to an endocrinologist--had ultrasounds, followed over time---no change. Sometimes they do a needle biopsy to check for problems. I chose not to do it. My friend has more numerous and larger nodules than me, and her biopsy did not find anything. My endo said they see a lot of this and don't really know why. They just "watch" it, if nothing develops that requires more treatment. They like to rule out cancer of course. Get your tests and ease your mind. Chances are it will not be a problem for you.
I am so sorry your little one is sick. I agree with the others that cutting teeth can make a child sick and have fevers. It could even be a virus. You are a good mom and you are capable of dealing with whatever it is. Best wishes to you and your family, bablylmers mom
