It was sad she wasnt crieing at all they had the needle in I thought, wow shes not even going to cry. then the blood wasnt coming very well then it stopped. The lady then moved the needle saying, "I think I lost it" (the vein) That was when she started crieing. Im good with needles but I even think that would hurt. It was like a quarter full, and the lady said is that enough (I was thinking i'm not paying 2 hundred dollars to send that one fourth of the way full) The other lady in the room said it has to be all the way full before I had to say it. So then she had to go into her other arm. My poor baby. But its done and just in time ide say. It is my opinion that she is showing symptoms and i refuse to have her expieriance 1 day of mental disability. Or pain. The poor babies! Tears tears.....all the poor undiagnosed babies....tears.

V...

I'm so glad you got this done for her before she experiences anything debilitating. Please let us know (I know you will!) what happens...

She's way too cute to suffer!

The poor baby! She was so brave. I'm glad you had it done and will keep Baby Mia in my prayers that she does not have this dreadful disease.

So you did get your daughter tested? That is good!

My youngest son has the same troubles with getting his blood taken. We have had some very horrible experiences :( He has what they call deep rolling veins. It takes awhile to find a good vein so he gets poked several times. Then it stops flowing and they have to do it again and again. He cries and cries. He has a sensory disorder too so the band they tie around his arm causes him worse pain then the needle itself. It's horrible!!

Please let us know the results. We should meet up for coffee or something sometime. Since we live close :)

V,

I can tell you that when they move that needle around, it DOES hurt! She would have been better off re-sticking her. It's really hard finding a good vein in a toddler, but in my opinion, she shouldn't have tried to move it around. She probably went through the vein and if she would have pulled back slightly, it probably would have started flowing again.

Ugh! I hate seeing kids in pain!
