I am allergic to amoxicillan and Doxy makes me so nautious(sp?) Is ceftin just as good?  Is it possible to get rid of lyme without using IV treatment (cannot afford it) when it has been misdiagnosed for so many years.  What meds would work?  If you could tell me what you guys take - I have word finding difficulty and organizing my thoughts.  I forget what was just said or to do in a split second.  What is worse I am in the middle of talking and stop and don't know what I am talking about  - people look at me like I am an idiot <sigh>

Hi Cindy,

Welcome. I'm sorry you're having such difficulty with Lyme.

I know there is a fairly recent post on this subject...but I cannot find it for the life of me. It is called "brain fog anyone" or "help for brain fog" or something like that.... It has ideas for meds.

Sorry I'm not more help. My brain's a little fried right now. But I'm sure someone else will come along with more info!

Borrascanno's protocal recommends minocycline for Lyme. Your cognative issues will get better with treatment.

Blessings
Diagnosed 2003 Lyme, Babesia, Bartonella, Micoplasma,Hashimotos Thyroiditis. Have had since early nineties. [/color]

I was having the same conversation, looking at someone while i am talking, and just listen to the words stop coming from my mouth, and dont know what im talking about or what i was getting at.
All i can say is that im an idiot and i forget what i was saying.
I remember telling doctors this and them dismissing it when I still didnt know what I was dealing with (what my sickness was).
I do know that eating with doxy helps like night and day.
It should be doxy or mino.
The line is faded not showing where Lyme came in. I became a new Mommy n my Lyme decided to show itself. Swollen elephant like knee and finger and limiting back pain. Bell's palsey, weight loss as if I had no muscle on my bones anymore. And much more text book lyme symptoms. To a Lyme doc, after alot of there is nothing wrong with you and a recommend to counceling,he said V this is Lyme. What kept me pressing on I had Lyme while I was pregnant. I know I was not infected while pregnant. I am watching her with an eagle eye. God Bless everyone. Love Veronica. Were the ones who know about Lyme not the doctors. Isnt that just mad? Backwards. Alice in wonderland.

I hear you Cindy. I got so bad that I just could not handle talking to a group of moms. They were just changing subject too fast. And by the time I got something out..it was too late. Or I couldnt get the words out.
I am sure now that I am finally well....and going to be around next year of my kids school year...that many of the moms think that I am a pot head or something. The ones that do not know me. But just saw me in a sor of daze.
I had to come clean to many, teachers and let them know how sick I was and to call my cell phone and remind me of things...like if school got our early or a certain dress day.
Some days I swear..I took my kids to school in my pjs...and once I hit the cop car sitting in front of the school.
I told them too...I was not well and even gave one of the cops the book "cure unknown"
They saw my decline in the 7 years. The thing that I did not look sick, had most people perplexed.
And when I tried to so something with the other school moms...like a fund raiser. I would show up...but man I just wanted to die..and would run home and get back into bed.
I would strongly suggest that you look up my vit and supp. list and get on what you can asap.
You have to boost up you immube system to get your body stronge. Think of your body as a tomato plant. I have my Lilly caring for one. She sees how proper care brings in a lot of fruit.
But if it is not in good soil...and not watered a ton, it does not do well at all.

Doxy made me nauseous in the beginning, too, but I liked how it killed the lyme. I just had to up my detox routines more, take ginger and such for the nausea, and I got through the worse of it then it wasn't so bad.
