I was sitting here watching TV and starting feeling flushed in my face. I felt really weird in my face too. I then started feeling weak in my arms and felt like I was going to pass out. I put my head into my knees to get the blood flowing back to my brain so that I wouldn't pass out. This lasted for about 5 minutes with the flushing. After it subsided, my arms stayed weak and shaky. They shake when I lift them like I've been lifting weights.

I have no clue what just happened and I didn't take anything new. I feel a little tired now. Has anyone experienced anything similiar?

Hi CajunGrl,

That's a scary feeling!  I used to get a sharp pain in my butt area (not saying where!) and experience the same as you did except most of the time I did pass out.  At least I had a warning so I could pass out safely.  To this day I have no idea why that used to happen.

I'm sorry this happened to you, wish I had some suggestions but I don't..

Hope you feel better,

Denise

Cajun

My Endo states my flushing (sounds just like yours) is from my thyroid and adrenals.

Hey guys,

Thanks for posting. I was really scared last night! Ive never passed out before and the feeling is terrible.

Deejavu: I had that feeling in my butt area too. I've had that with an anxiety attack so I just thought it was that since I was scared. Very weird.

1Bitten: Ive been asking my endo to get my adrenals checked. He says that he doesn't think the test is reliable. Ummm ok? So now what do I do? I think I may need to find a new doctor. Grrrr! I feel like I'm trying to find a Lyme doctor all over again.

Ticker: Thats very interesting. I used to have the pass out feeling all the time but it usually happened when I was jolted out of my sleep. I thought it was more anxiety. I was clinically diagnosed with Babs and have been running a fever all the week.

CG the first time it happened to me i was sitting at the PC. went to my PCP the next day and was placed on the meclizine for vertigo. it happened again about a week ago why waiting to see my Dr. in his exam room. told him about it and he didn't do anything. just looked at my hands. i found this to be very odd behavior for a Dr.

I hope this clears up for you soon, as i know its no fun, and yes very scary to boot.

That just sucks. Was wondering if it was like a hot flash -- menopause?

Hoping,

Hey hun. How have you been? Haven't heard from you in a while.

I take the Depo Shot to stop my menstrul cycle because it is really bad. I'm usually in bed for a week while on it. So, it's not menapause yet. I'm not sure what happened and I hope it doesn't come back!

james i know when i have the feeling of about to pass out i turn ghost white. there was no way he could of missed it. and the lass time i did pass out i also stoped breathing so it is very scary. least i was at the ER when it happened.

CG. maybe you can ask your DR to check you for early menapause. even if you doing the shots it can still cause your body to think otherwise. there also is no set in stone age frame for it too. i had a friend who was in her mid 20s going thro it. and some Drs will say you start menapause as of day one when you start your mentral cycle. as you have 1 less egg each time.

kinda make since in a strange way.

RD,

I really don't think it's menapause. I think it's either this disease or my thyroid and adrenal like 1bitten said.

I found this interesting:

There are many other symptoms that women may experience during the pre-menopause years. Sometimes the symptoms of menopause can be mimicked by other conditions--commonly thyroid disorders--so it's important anytime you experience changes that are different for you that you consult your physician.

womenshealth.about.com/cs/menopause/a/perimenopause.htm

I truly think it may be my thyroid because everytime I'm in a Lyme cycle, I have hypo symtoms. Any other day, my thyroid is fine.

Hi Cajungrl,

This is very firghtening, Its is best to get a thryoid workup, I had tryoid issues after my lyme disease resolved, I elso get this feeling when by blood pressure goes up, I starte a B Comples vitamin and it caused the feeling you described as soon as I stopped it it was gone,  but the biggest issue is the thryroid, I was on thyroid meds for approx 16  years on almost the same dose till I got lyme and since than constantly adjusting dosage, Ticker can better explain it but some people do better when their  number are on the lower end, feel better
