Will ALL symptoms resolve?

During or after treatment, if it is effective and the Lyme resolves, will symptoms like this change/resolve?

Big, fat belly. Will this go away if I did not have this before?

Thyroid problem: I'm on meds (which I don't think are helping). If Lyme gets better, will my thyroid get better too?

Those are examples. All of you probably have your own questions on this.

+Lyme, Are you on armour for your thyroid? Perhaps if your not maybe your doctor could consider this. Perhaps you need to have your dose raised.

I have heard that sometimes thyroid can improve with treatment but can't say I know anyone that it has happened to. But if it is Hashimoto's I think not because the gland started to be destroyed, and will be to be supplemented for life.

If you never had belly fat before and have thyroid issues, keep trying to resolve it. Don't give up. Keep seeking an endo who will work with you. Good endos are however extremely hard to find. My LLMD prescribes my thyroid meds because the endo I went to did not want to use Armour and did not understand what it did. She only would use synthroid and would consider nothing else for her patients no matter what kind of thyroid problems they had. I am looking for an endo who will work with Armour because I think that is by far the most comprehensive type of thyroid treatment I can get.

In case you haven't read my post on the subject I have increased my dose as iit seems it was much too low and am slowly losing my pregnant looking belly.

Thanks, Minerals! I'm on Levothyroxin. Actually, it was the endo who told me my thyroid was low (high #), but not high enough to treat. Then my PCP disagreed and put me on meds. I will ask my LLMD about the Armour (and I'll look it up) PCP did not think I have Hashimotos.  I will go back and look at those tests again.

I guess, what I meant was, if Lyme caused my thryroid problem, which just so happened to appear within a year of my tick bite, then will curing Lyme return my thyroid to normal, assuming it is not diseased?

I will be out for awhile now, gotta go to work. shakehead

PS, and no, I did not have this flab all over my belly and it did not protrude like this before Lyme.

Belly fat can also be from high cortisol (stress). You have probably seen the comercials on tv about it. Some Lymies I know have high cortisol levels along with the thryroid issues. Good luck-  D

Lyme,

If you are interested in Armour and your doctor doesn't prescribe it, there is a supplement that I take that has the same ingredients as Armour. I brought it in to my doctors office so that he could look at it and it was the same. It's called Thyro Complex.

I have gained a lot of belly fat since lyme began - at one point I looked very pregnant - it did subside a lot after I did 4 days of drinking only water and eating small amount wholemeal toast - detoxed something out - white fatty stuff - in bowel movement!!

my belly has been much more 'normal' in appearance since - though not as 'normal' as before lyme.
