During my three year nightmare of going from dr. to dr. it was discovered that my normetanephrine levels were very high.  At that time I was tested for a pheochromocytoma which was negative.  I believe it is an abnormal stress hormone.  Since being diagnosed with lyme, I mentioned to dr. and he said he will have to look further for adrenal problems since it is not typical with lyme.  Just wondering anyone out there come back with this?  My anxiety level was so high but cortisol was always normal.  Thanks.

Hi springsjean,

I'm sorry I don't know anything about the normetanephrine issue, but I wanted to tell you about a lyme friend of mine that also gets anxiety. She found out that food allergies/multiple chemical sensitivities can "act up" and trigger anxiety. Also, bartonella and yeast flares can trigger it. Lyme/coinfections are so complicated, it's so hard to figure out what is causing what! My friend does suffer from adrenal fatigue too, so this can also complicate things.

I am sorry you are suffering and hope things get better for you soon. Best wishes, bablymers mom
