I have lyme, bart, and fungal issues...
I've been on mino/levaquin for about 6 weeks now and before that, I was on lev/doxy for about 2 months... and I have really had it......  My symptoms have gotten worse ( herx, toxicity?)  and while i know its par for the course with antibiotics....  i really wonder if its toxicity being inflicted on my already compromised  body....  anyhow,  I looked at my toes and they started turning white (fungus) and I have to say... if its doing that to my toes, what is it doing to the rest of me.. I mean come on,,,  at some point, doesnt our immune system have say "ahh Houston, we have a problem?"  How in the world can we have so many symptoms and the immune system just say oh, ok...I'll just let this bacteria destroy my inhabatence.... something is very wrong........
I had an eye issue (actually both eyes) and went to an opthamologist who is llmd.  He said it was a virus and that this is my lucky day.... I looked at him like HUH??  He went on to explain that this virus will strengthen my immune system and that he wasnt going to give me anything to treat it (It really was severe) because "our bodies can do more than any pill can"   He was right, after that infection resolved, (after a week of pure hell) I got retested by western blot by my primary llmd and a couple of more bands became positive...   I believe so strongly that we have to get our bodies to fight, fight, fight...  My immune system was shot when I got infected because of all the wrong choices I made with my body ... ie... smoking, drinking, eating crappy, etc..... Since I got sick, I've  quit smoking, eat right, and have laid off the booze still to know avail....my body needs something else... and Im going to figure out what it is
So, Im trying a new experiment....
My accupuncturist has this product called body balance and I actually feel halfway decent taking it... the required amount is 2-8oz a day.... well I'm going to triple that to 24 oz a day for a month (very expensive) and see where this takes me... if anything, it should atleast detox me completely.... but Im hoping for a little more than that.... I stopped my antibiotics a couple of days a go, and began this protocol..... I will let you guys know how I do....  I also ordered zhangs book and Im going to research that as well.....
Take care

Good luck with everything! I hear you on having enough. I'm feeling the same way.

Are you doing detox baths? They really help alot. I just ordered a portable sauna to further help with detoxing.

please be very careful about doing your own prescribing. I know where you are coming from, as I have been sooooo tempted to 'do it on my own' also. I have no LLMD's that I can get to on any kind of a regular basis - they are either too far away or won't take or file ANY kind of ins.

I didn't test pos on a WB until after being on a large dose of Mino for 1 yr & now I test pos for RMSF, Masters & LD. I don't think my reg doc knows how to tests for other co's (what to order & what not), so who knows there.

I wish you the best of luck though, whatever you decide. Ultimately, each of our paths are walked alone, as this insidious disease has very different effects on each of us.

Looking forward to reading about your decisions & your journey through this.

If you are on antibiotics for a long period of time, you need to be taking something that will protect your intestinal tract or you could develop a yeast infection. I am taking acidophilus pills, once a day to avoid anything.
