Anyone on an Augmentin XR/Flagyl combo?

I just got switched to this today. It's 1000mg of Augmentin...I believe it's (2) 2x/day.

That seems like a lot but I've read of people on 4000mg/day.

I feel like this combo is strange but supposedly amoxil can penetrate the bbb in large doses...and this particular augmentin has 1000mg of amoxil.

I didn't know that about Amoxil. Maybe that's why I herxed so bad.

It looks like your doctor knows what he's doing. He seems like he's on top of things trying different combos.

Okay...just kidding about that...I'm having insurance trouble AGAIN...been sobbing my eyes out all day long trying to get it resolved, so my doctor decided to take the cheap route to help me out and just put me on 3000mg of Amoxicillin/day.

My Igenex came back with only (as far as double starred) 39 and 41 AGAIN, and my Igenex Bart IGG/IGM and PCR were all negative. Go figure.

I talked to the dr about doing Flagyl more full time but he said it's better to pulse it.

I guess we'll see...

Oh, and as far as viruses go...HSV 1 was positive and high and EBV showed past infection. Parvo was negative.

HSV1 is a fever blister. I had that one show up too. The very first fever blister I had ever gotten in my whole life.
