Can anyone interpret this?  Looks to me like his highest suggested dose is 3000 mg/day?  I'm on 3400 mg/day -- does it sound a little high?

Hey Lyme,

How are you doing hun? In my opinion, I don't think 400mg extra would make much of a difference. Im not sure why he gave you 400 extra though. You think maybe your pharmacist might know?

Good idea, CJ, thanks! See, you're always smart thinking -- you must be gettin better!

Has anyone else taken doses this high? (3400mg)

Hi +Lyme.  I believe one gram is 1000 mg, so the minimum daily dose is 3000 mg and the maximum is 6000 mg.

Hi +Lyme,

From what I have read, in Europe they use even higher doses of Amoxycillin with very good results.  My son just spent 4 mos. on 7,000mg. (7 grams).  He seems to have plateaued and his LL neurologist has just raised the dosage to 10.5 grams.  I have heard of other people on another forum that have used even higher doses, so I am encouraged.

I hope the Amox. works as well for you as it has for Dan.

Take Care,

Karen
