Umm .... isn't your visit with Dr R. today?

Please keep us posted on how it went.  It should be very informative.

And at least it's not so blasted hot this week  yeah yeah yeah

Hi!

Yep, my appointment was today. I just got back from the airport. And I would have welcomed hot weather- it's so cold here that we had to turn the furnace on!

Anyway, the appointment went really well. Dr. R. was very, very helpful, informative, patient, etc. He believes I have Lyme, but for now, he is diagnosing me with "probable" Lyme. He also believe I have Bartonella, and perhaps Babesia. So I'm supposed to start Biaxin and Bactrim, and in three weeks, he wants me to re-test the Lyme IgM, as well as the Igenex test for Babesia.

If in the three weeks I have a herx, or if the test comes back positive, he'll drop the "probable". If the Babesia comes back positive, he'll start me on treatment for that (and he will also take that as a positive for Lyme, as it is unlikely I would have Babesia and not Lyme). He's also starting me on thyroid meds.

And the really good news- he knows of a Canadian pharmacy that will accept his prescriptions, and re-write them as Canadian, which means my insurance will cover 80% of it. Hooray!

The only weird thing is that after I left, he prescribed a sleeping pill, for "insomnia"- but I didn't think I had insomnia. And I'm not super-keen on sleeping meds to begin with, so I might have to call him about that one.

I am really glad I went.

Anyway, I'm so tired I can hardly think, so I'm off to bed. Thanks for remembering!

Nicky

Nicky,

Yayyyyyyyy That is wonderful news! Wow, your doctor sounds really knowledgeable. I'm so glad everything went well:)

My LLMD prescribed me something to sleep too. I never took it though because I'm so sensitive to those medicines. I think they prescribe sleeping meds so that we can get a restorative sleep. It helps our muscles recover.

That's such good news.  We're lucky here in the Seattle area to have a couple of great Drs for stuff like this.  I think you're on the path to getting well.

Maybe just use the sleep aid if you feel like you need it?  Many of us do have a sleep disturbance.  Without my Abien CR I'd be getting 4 - 4 1/2 hrs of sleep a night.
