LLMD has finally agreed to test for co-infections. He gave us a script. Do you recommend Igenex or are local labs accurate in co-infection testing? I would appreciate your advise. thanks, Bev

I see no one has answered your question.

If you can affors it Igenex is the best.

MDL labs is another reputable lab that is used. My LLMD uses them for co-infections.

Hi Bev.  I am glad your hubby will get tested, it is so important.

I recommend IgeneX for Babesiosis, both types of Ehrlichiosis (and/or Anaplasmosis), and Bartonella testing.  They do not test for Mycoplasma.  I recommend MDL in NJ for Mycoplasma testing.

You can have IgeneX send you a kit.  You take it to a doctor who is willing to draw the blood and send it back.  The results will be reported to the doctor who sent them in.  You can call them at 800-832-3200 for instructions and to get a testing kit.

Good luck!

Testing is great but be aware negative testing does not rule out infection! My Babesia test eas positive ( helpful ). But NO Bart tests were positive and this infection ( now being treated for) has held me back and now that it is being addressed I have improved greatly.

Hey All,
I have been reading that there is still no reliable tests for any of the TBI's.
As my late LLMD used to say - "Absence of proof is not proof of absence"!!

This is just one part of this disease that is so frustrating. Testing, treatment, insurance coverage and resonse of others to "I have Lyme diease". While recently in the hospital, the infectious disease doctor told us "This is definately ALS" and then when the doctor on call came in he said "I am glad you are treating for Lyme disease because I have seen ALS and so much of this and the way it has progressed doesn't fit ALS". We hear both sides continually. When will it end? I only hope we get some positive results from co-infection testing. Bev
