JELAINEP and nefferdun, yeah we don't have Lyme in Colorado either. Never mind a study from 10 years ago that found a rare form of Lyme in Colorado that doesnt show up on Western Blot tests. Because of this, the CDC doesn't get reports for positive Western Blot tests for Lyme originating in Colorado.

Wow! There are a lot of ppl from PA. I am from PA as well. I lived in South Carolina for a year and right after I moved I got really sick. I said something to my sister the other day and she said, "there aren't ticks in South Carolina so that can't be when you were bitten." She is a very very intelligent person too. It was too funny. I didn't bother to correct her because she always wins our arguments. But, regardless, I could have been bitten in PA and just didn't get sick until I moved to South Carolina. Who knows:)

hello! i traveled to scotland summer 2008 and my student delegation visited a working sheepdog farm.  the farmer was saying that ticks didn't used to be a problem, and that in recent years, there had been a huge increase.  that it was affecting the sheep and collies.  i'm just curious if you have noticed an increase in ticks?  i've always been interested in Lyme outside of the U.S.

Hey Jelaine,

Is that list referring to where people live or where they got bit? 1bitten2xshy lives in Florida and RD lives in Texas. I don't understand what you mean by Alabama listed as Texas? lol

I live in Johnson County, KS.  Don't believe what they say about us.....

I am within the Kansas City 'metro' area, but in a small town.  There are tons of ticks here. My dogs and I frequent an undeveloped hiking/swimming canine park.  It is within a 1250 acre park of which parts are developed and much is undeveloped and a nature reserve.

We have seen wild turkey,  pheasant, skunks, racoons, oppossum, almost every kind of snake, bald eagles, vultures, bob cat, coyotes, turtles, beaver dams, and we have the highest density of deer in the nation.

They are currently working on some kind of plan for the deer, because we are so over populated and they are becoming so diseased.

At any rate, you can see why we'd have tick problems. All the LLMDs around here are overbooked and not taking new patients.

I lived in Asheville, NC when I got the big bite in 1972.   I have no evidence that I had a TBI from this bite, except from what followed.  I got extremely ill appx 1 week after the bite and my signature tells what followed.

Hi Jesse,

Welcome to the forum! I'm so sorry you have Lyme but very glad that you found us:)

Your list of supplements look great. Garlic is good for boosting the immune system. Echinacea is great to take but can cause herxing since it kills off bacteria too. Milk Thistle is great for liver support. You are on the right path, that's for sure!

Detoxing is very important for getting rid of toxins in the body. When the bacteria die off, they release toxins and sometimes is too much for the liver, so detoxing helps tremendously.

Again, welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy your stay:)

My name is Nancy. I live in Florida- between DeLand and New Symrna Beach. Not sure where I contracted lyme. CDC was determined to "blame" a visit to Kentucky, because "there is no lyme from Florida" but I had traveled all over South - Eastern US prior to becoming sick (GA, Tenn, Kentucky, Carolinas and VA)

Stacy from Kansas

Been bit my whole life but the one that made me sick is from PERRY LAKE, KS

Not the only one from there that has been infected.

My LLMD Dr. B in Johnson County, KS is treating 3 others that got bit in same area.
