Hi everyone,
Just wanted to make everyone aware, if your have a PICC line and your arm gets sore, don't ignore it. My arm had been bothering me since Monday night (I've had my PICC line in since July 14th). I kept thinking it was just sore from over use, finally the pain was so bad that I said something to my LLD and he sent me for an ultrasound, long story short, I had a blood clot. I was sent over to ER where they pulled my PICC and I spent the night in the hospital, I also had some very painful blood thinner shots in my tummy. Saw the hemogologist and was told that luckily the vein was a smaller one vs. larger where the blot clot is,  and I only need to take asprin 2X's a day for the next 10 days and that is it.
Not trying to scare anyone or give horror stories, I just want everyone to know when it doesn't feel right, don't ignore it. I was released today and talked to my Lyme doctor, going to see him on Monday to discuss the next course of action.

Thank you for posting this. It's good to know the bad side of things too. I'm glad you're okay.
