Back in June I ended up getting a couple eye infections that lasted a day or two and then some very mild joint pain. After that a sinus infection. My son had bronchitis. (I was nursing 3 sick kittens with chlamydia at the time, so maybe there's another infection involved?) My joint pain has been here since. Its mostly in my hands but never too long and sometimes is in my other joints. During this time my 15 yr old son ended up going to the Rheumatologist after having what the doctor thought was reactive arthritis. I have had horrible anxiety since then thinking that the cats got us sick and started seeing a Psychiatrist for my "hypochondria".

Well Friday I got my blood work back from labcorp and the results are IGM P23 and P41 positive. All IGGs were negative. My doctor says I should have some positives in the IGG after 3 months and he thinks its a false positive but is going to put me on a 28 day antibiotic treatment just in case and will test me in a month. Am I really infected with Lyme and if so why hasnt anything showed up in my IGG's after 3 months?

My son's blood work came back with 2 out of 3 positives for IGM and over 5 out of 10 in IGG. He's going to start on the same treatment as me.

From what i read, that doesn't seem very long for treatment. Can anyone point me to a LLMD for myself and son? Im a single mom and am feeling overwhelmed at the moment.

Thanks for the help guys!

Sorry to hear you are sick. I suggest you stay aggressive about finding help. The lyme test is very inaccurate. In my opinion, that fact that you have two bands on the lab corp Western suggests that it is very possible/likely that you do have lyme. I only had 1 band on my orignal lab corp Western. You may want to re-test with a lab called IgeneX that specializes in tick-borne infections.

Unfortunately, LLMDs are hard to find. Not many doctors treat Lyme the way it should be treated. I travel from Indianapolis to Western PA to see an LLMD. I would be glad to give you his info if you want it. If so, you can contact me at brjoyce2@att.net.

I wish you the best. Keep us updated.

Thanks Brad,
I just called IGeneX and they're shipping me out the test kits today. We'll see how things go from here.
