It said other kinds of ticks carry Bb, but they don't know if they can infect humans with it.  This is the first time I've read this.  KO
2001 symptoms started:
Tingling in fingers and toes both sides, not tested at that time for LD
2007 Summer tested pos. WB, diagnosed with LD, tested neg for co-infections thru Igenex
Abx - Doxy 100mg 2x/day for 3 weeks (before diagnosis)
Amoxicillin 1gm 2x/day for 1 month
Amoxicillin 1gm 3x/day with Probenecid 500mg 2x/day  5 months
Currently on Dr. Zhang's protocol stopped Zhang's after 6 months symptoms returned.  Started Buhner's protocol May 2009

I was bitten by the wood tick and had the EM rash. The strains of Bb and BLO I have do not test. The Rocky Mt. Lab In Montana is trying to identify what it is and so far just call it a "cousin". I have been sick for over 3 years. There are no deer ticks in Montana but the wood tick carries it. It is very bad in certain areas like the lake where I was bitten and several other counties including near Yellowstone Park.

Just one more thing they can deny and say there isn't any proof of!  How long did it take you to get a diagnosis?  KO

It took two years. The really stupid thing is that I went to several doctors at the local hospital and was told I could not have gotten anything from a tick bite except Rocky Mt spotted fever as there is no lyme disease here. This hospital is about 4 blocks from Rocky Mt. Lab and is supposed to be working together with them in case of an escape of the deadly pathogens at the lab. This is the same lab that identified Bb - the scientist there that Bb was named after was Borgdorfer. This lab has been working on identifying the local strain for years. An article was published in the Missoulian newspaper in 2004 about it. Meanwhile, the hospital and all the doctors connected to it are telling sick people, like myself, that they cannot have anything, even when they have the EM rash staring them in the face.
I know of one person whose husband died from ALS several years ago. They were told the same thing and no one ever considered Lyme as a possibility. Last year I spoke with a woman whose husband was positive for lyme but was being treated for RA, as the doctors were convinced of CDC protocol. She said he was dying.

PS
Try googling "There is lyme disease in Montana". That was the name of the article and it came up for me on the canlyme site.

The CDD sent me a personal email stating that the lone star tick does not carry lyme. That is false from everything I have read.
Bit 1972: Acute and chronic tonsillitis, UTI, miscarraige, appendicitis, hypoglycemia,  chronic neck pain w/ crushed vertibrae, chronic severe back pain, mitral valve prolapse, depression, resolution?
Bit Mother's Day 2007: Lyme, Babesia microti, hypothyroidism, EBV, HHV6, Parvovirus B19, low adrenals &misc other hormones, depression, anxiety, more of the above.
What don't these nasty bugs cause?
CD57= 60, so we're in pretty good shape.

Nefferdun, Wow, they really need to wake up. It didn't say anything about recieving treatment (for those people that had the rash and were having their blood drawn). I can't believe that educated people can really be that stupid. Take Care, KO
