After feeling pretty well yesterday (probably best day I've had during the last 3-4 weeks) I woke up with very sore legs (especially the back side of my upper legs).  My legs are also very weak.  When I walk my knees seem to be giving out.  I guess I've had these issues before but not nearly to this degree.   Anyone else had similar experiences with this?  Any idea of the cause?

Possibly electrolyte imbalance? Stay hydrated and try drinking an electrolyte drink of your choice. Or, if you have supplements with potassium and magnesium, try that and see if it helps.

about 2 yrs ago and b4 i was haven the same trouble with my knees, then 1 day i was laying on the couch watching TV. i got up to do something and my knee bluckled on me.

by that night i wasnt able to walk on my right leg at all. and the next morning i had to go to the ER. as i wasnt able to walk or place any weight on my right leg.

my right knee was 3times the size it should be. after a MRI witch showed i tore my ACL and Minniscuse ( not sure how to spell it)

i had to have sergurey on it. its been over a yr now and i am just now getting to walk halfway right now.

so if your knee is giving out on you, be very careful as it can lead to big trouble. use a brace or something to give the knee support. it may save you in the long run.
still looking for answers.

Hi needs help,

I had this problem too, but it only started after I started treatment. The muscle weakness/tiredness was worse than the pain, but I also had leg pain. My Dr thinks it might be related to my adrenals. When you're sick, your adrenals are under a lot of stress. Many people with Lyme disease have adrenal deficiencies. These can get worse or happen at any point before or after treatment, as your adrenal system is still under stress after you are on treatment. Supplements designed for people with CFIDS or Chronic Fatigues system could help- I am on things for both. Also, antioxidants can help.

Sorry- I'd love to give more of an explanation, or more info, but I'm pretty brain-dead today,, so I'll stop before I stop making sense.
