I am very much trying to find out more about detox and specific questions such as...

Should you time the detox based on how you feel after a certain method.

Are there more gentle methods than others that should be done first before other?

If you have a strong reaction should you keep going or back off?

Should you stop or slow down the abx or bug killing to catch up on detoxing if you feel you
are behind on or slow in the detoxing of the neurotoxins.

If you might be one of the people who have genetic detox issues what can you do or take to help your body work better.?

I feel I am at a cross roads. I feel strongly my treatment is working. But I feel my body is now loaded up with neurotoxins more than ever before. When I do a sauna or lympth drainage treatment that most others get a gentle reaction from mine is very strong and like a huge herx that lasts for days and days.

I am not sure how to handle this and if I should back off treatment and concentrate on detoxing.
If I keep trying to do both it feels almost like I am wasting time hitting the bugs and trying to detox because I feel so horrible constantly.

When I do not do detox at all i feel somewhat better but can tell i am holding on to these neurotoxins> I do not want to risk them being re absorbed etc.

I am taking Welchol and drinking lots of water and water with lemons and such. I am taking baths every day with salt in them and do dry brushing of my skin. I do coffee enemas.

Those methods I do ok with.

But when I do something that the doctor ordered that is done at an office with a practiioner that is using some sort of device or has a process or procedure with Lasers or Sauna etc .. I can not handle these treatments without feeling so horrible afterward that I know its too much.. I can feel it is too much.

At the same time I know I need to get these toxins out.

So.. any help with these sorts of details on timing and amounts and when and what to consider would be helpful if anyone else has been through this same situation.

I also think I have the genetic issues about detox but have not had testing done. I am not sure if that testing is of value uniless there is some specific thing that can be done based on those tests and I do not know that answer either.

THANKs Much.

Hi Keephope,
Unfortunately, I do not have the answers you seek - although I am very interested in any replies. I have tried to detox before starting any tx (seemed like a good idea at the time, anyway!), and had some pretty painful results.

So for anyone who has any suggestions - I am also interested in the 'most gentle' detoxing.

Thanx in advance!!!

But I know I am holding these neurotoxins. I can feel it.

When i do detox modalities and about die. Its all in there wanting to get out.>!

I am trying to find out how and ways to address this. Its tough. I have done the basic stuff but it seems to not be working ..

Anyone with ideas.. Much appreciated.

Morning KeepHope,

As you know I'm a big believer in detoxing as that helped me get better.  But I'm not a doctor so I could only give you my opinions...

You asked about timing, I believe detoxing should be done every single day no matter what protocol a person is on, especially the detox baths and dry skin brushing.

When you say that after a sauna or lymph drainage treatment you get a strong reaction, that tells me that you are right, your body (and possibly brain) is filled with toxins.  I wouldn't call it a herx but simply an overload of toxins..  The reason I say this is because those toxins could have been dead for a long time already and are just staying inside your body causing you problems.

My thinking is if you could stop all antibiotics for a while and just concentrate on doing the salt/peroxide baths (I know people who do them 3 times a day), that would be a good start, so maybe increase the baths...

If you are suffering from brain fog then I highly recommend Dr. Jernigan's Neuro-Antitox CNS/PNS Formula as that product really helped me and other people I know.   Most toxins convert into ammonia and when a person has too much ammonia in their body that causes brain fog, joint pains, liver problems, and the list goes on.

As far as genetic problems with detoxing, I'm not sure I understand that..  For instance, when a person sweats that is a form of detoxing.  Just like when I exercise, I sweat and I know that's a good thing.   Can sweating or not sweating be genetic?  I don't know..

Some detoxing is not pleasant and it is not designed to be pleasant, i.e., when a person first starts detox baths, they usually feel worse which is perfectly normal, their bodies are adjusting to ridding their bodies of toxins..   but if they stop they are not accomplishing anything.. just like exercise.    Detox baths must be done on a daily basis.   In Dr. J's book he has 3 different types of detox baths but I have only done one, the salt/peroxide one..

Have you tried internal cleansing?  Like the gallbladder/liver cleanse?  That's a healthy thing to do whether a person has lyme or not.

You mentioned laser treatments and I don't know what that is so if you could explain that to me I would be most interested.

On another note, that's great that you are drinking so much water and liquids, good for you!

I don't know if I helped you at all, I'm still drinking my first cup of coffee and not fully awake yet!

Hang in there,
Denise

HI there..
Thanks for the response!

I have been doing the baths one time only a day and i do the salt peroxide one too. I do the dry brushing before every bath and i try to do it two times a day.

I seem to handle the things I do like that ok.

The laser treatments I talk about are Cold Laser treatments. It is a device that sends a signal and electronic zap through a bulb. I have the link to the actual machine if your interested. it is run over your lymph areas of underarms, neck, back of knees, stomach, hips etc.
They do that only for about 2 mintues of each area.

I am flush and with headaches and then sick for a good 3 days after. Wow...

I also have done an Ozone sauna for 39 minutes at a time. I got sick from this too but not quite as bad.

I think your right to back off on the abx and concetnrate on detox.

I am also going to ask about IV GLUTH and ?? Do you have nay other suggestions?

I will make sure to do the baths every day and more than once..

I also do coffee enemas.

I really think i work pretty hard on this but for some reason my body is not cooperating like It should. I just know I can feel it hanging on to the crap.

I really thiink I am getting great treatment but hitting a wall knowing it has to be the toxins.

I am pretty sure anyway.

Thanks for your comments and ideas and taking the time to comment.

Any and all ideas very appreciated.

Hi again KeepHope,

Okay, I know about the Laser treatments you are talking about from others who have done them (that was a long time ago).   Never did them as I got better doing the things I have done...  I guess I am lucky.

You mention you are left with headaches and not feeling well for 3 days after treatment.. What comes to my mind is diet..

If you can go into specifics as to what you are eating that may explain much.  Diet plays a huge role not only for people who suffer from chronic lyme but for everyone as we all live in a really toxic world with too many processed foods...

Just a thought,
Denise

well I am not thinking it is diet.

I have a good strict clean diet if you ask me.

I do not eat anything processed.
I do not eat any dairy
I do not eat any grains (except brown rice one time a week or so)
I eat all fresh fruits and veggies that are organic
I do buy Almond or Soy milk sometimes
I do buy Almond cheese sometimes
I eat beans such as Pinto because I like to make
mexican dishes sometimes.
If i make stir fry with my brown rice I use brocolli and
chicken.
I eat chicken or fish only maybe one time a week.

Mostly I drink .. things
I drink water tons
I make green smoothies with veggies
I make some fruite smoothies with protien power and flax
seed and coconut oil or roatate various things inlcluding
probiotics.

I add wheat grass etc.

I change smoothies based on season sometimes or
what I feel I need.

Hmmmm lets see.. cant think of anything else to add.

I think its it neurotoxins.. i really do.

Hi KeepHope,

Wow, I am really impressed with your diet and list of foods.. very healthy!   Thus, yes, it may be neurotoxins you are dealing with which would make lots of sense...

Knowing what I know now, I would go off the abx and try a product that I used which helped me sooooooo much called Neuro-Antitox CNS/PNS.  Actually when I was taking this product, it was really 2 separate bottles (Silphium and Pale Spike Lobelia) but Dr. J. combined both in one bottle since both ingredients go hand in hand.

If you feel a difference in a month or two after taking it, you know it's working, if not, then forget about it!

Naturally it's made by Dr. Jernigan and it costs $48.00 a bottle..  And you don't need a doctor to prescribe it for you..    I do know some that have taken this product with antibiotics (there is 20% grain alcohol in it that does NOT mix well with certain antibiotics) or if one is a recovering alcoholic like myself (I had to remove the alcohol, very simple).

You can read about it here:

If you want to order it, it can be ordered here:

Hope this helps,
Denise

I am a turning point right now.. i am over herxing and I can feel I am on the edge of
a turn around. I just want to really guide myself and make sure I take care of myself
